Last month was rough. Devan is still in the hospital but he is recovering. To sum up last month, a lot happened. I was told I had to repeat my junior year because I had so many missing credits. Not even summer school would be enough to get them back. Christian was released from jail, and he and Keira moved back to Ohio to be with Keira's mom. The rest of the school's basketball team, even Devan despite him being in the hospital, was charged for everything that happened over those two days. The worst thing that happened was on Devan's birthday.

I went to the hospital on his birthday to surprise him. He was in the exact same room as I was which was weird. I walked in with balloons and a cake I made him. He was so happy to see me because he hadn't seen me since he jumped in front of me. We talked for about an hour. I couldn't bearly make it through it without crying. Seeing him lay there not being able to move and seeing him hooked up to all the machines made my heart hurt so bad. I felt like I had caused it. Oh wait, I did. I felt so guilty. I couldn't believe what I had done. Every time they gave us an update on Devan in school, I started crying. Everyone told me that it wasn't my fault. Everyone told me he was the idiot who jumped in front of the gun. They were all so heartless. Every day during the 1st period I had to go to the counselor so she could talk me out of smacking someone.

But after talking for a couple of hours, I went to go get a lighter for the candles on the cake. When I came back, I surprised Devan with his mom, dad, brother and my brothers. I lit the candles, we all sang "happy birthday" and he blew out the candles. His family hung out for about 30 minutes after that but then they left. My brothers left 20 minutes after Devan's family left. Devan and I opened the presents everyone had left him.

"Tara, thank you for making this the best birthday ever, " he told me.

He sat up in bed and I kissed him. I turned around to organize his gifts and he laid back down. Literally, nothing was happening and then I heard a scary noise.

(Warning: The link includes VERY loud noises. If you have sensitive hearing, headphones in or it being late at night or early in the morning please be cautious with the volume of the link.)

I freaked out and immediately called a nurse into the room.

"HELP! I NEED A NURSE! MY BOYFRIEND IS FLATLINING!!! HELP!!" I screamed as the noise got more intense. A group of three nurses came in; one escorting me out.  I fought with the nurse that escorted me out, but she still wouldn't let me back in the room. I sat in the waiting room for an hour. They eventually came out of the room to tell me he was alright. I will never forget that I almost lost Devan on his birthday.

Aside from all that commotion last month, this month has been much better. Devan is expected to get out of the hospital in three days, so he can go to college. Though I don't want him to leave, I'd rather see him out of the hospital healthy than in the hospital still hurting. Right now, I just want to go to bed.

Three days later:

Devan is out of the hospital!! I am so happy, and so his he. Today he surprised me at school. The bell rang after 8th hour and I was ready to leave. I ran to my locker; however, when I stopped to talk to Chase she seemed a lot more cheerful than normal. After our conversation, she said bye in such a happy way, and I couldn't tell if it was because of her or because of me. I walked past the principal's office, but before I could go any further than the door, the secretary stopped me. She told me I was being picked up from the front. I asked her about my car, and she said Blake picked it up earlier. First of all, WHY WOULD BLAKE PICK IT UP?? AND WHY WOULD THE OFFICE GIVE HIM THE KEYS? I just wanted to go home, so I didn't question anything else. I looked around for Alexander's car. I heard a car horn honk. I turned my head the direction of the horn and almost started crying. You think I would have noticed it, but straight in front of me was MY car with MY boyfriend in the driver's seat. Devan hopped out of the car. I dropped my backpack, and Devan and I ran towards each other. He picked me up by the waist; consequently, he spun me around. When I stopped spinning, I immediately wrapped my legs around him. He held me up, and we just kissed. I couldn't believe this was happening. Chase and Trevor brought me my backpack, but they didn't tell us to stop. They stood there watching. Eventually, we stopped. The happiness that filled my heart had quickly left as soon as we parked on the other side of the road from his house. I saw the back of his car was packed with boxes. He immediately frowned when he stopped the car. We both got out of the car; we walked across the street. His family walked out of the house as we walked into the house.
