Even though the mysterious men had revealed their razor-sharp fangs to him, Jongup still wasn't sure if he believed the whole story that they are really, in fact, vampires. He may of saw their fangs unsheathe from their gums above their human teeth but that just some how wasn't enough for the twenty-three year old. That, or maybe it was and he was simply in shock and denial.
The young man with silver hair was currently staring at the sandwich that he had made. The leader, Yongguk, had kindly showed him where everything was in the kitchen and had told him to help himself to anything. With that being said, Jongup made a sandwich only to realize that he was no longer hungry afterwards. He wasn't sure what to do with it and had wished Heejoon was there because his best friend would devour it without a second thought. Jongup sighed. He already missed his family and friends. He was praying to whatever God there was that what was currently going on was a prank because he couldn't live knowing that his family no longer knows that he even exists, let alone not being able to see them anymore.
Why is this happening? Jongup thought blankly. He lift his head up when he heard footsteps entering the kitchen and saw the man name, Daehyun, entering while humming a song and moving his head from side-to-side. He came to a stop on the other end of the island Jongup was sitting at and stopped humming, looking at Jongup. The human raised an eyebrow at the vampire in question.
Clearing his throat the Half-blood said nervously, "I hope that there's no hard feelings." Jongup nearly choked on air and gave the other a look of disbelief. Putting his hands in front of him in mock of defense the man with thick lips added, "As messed and heartless this situation is, there are benefits-"
Assuming the elder meant sex, Jongup shook his head and cut Daehyun off. "We're not hooking up so you can get that so-called benefit out of your head."
Daehyun scoffed and rolled his eyes playfully. "I wasn't talking about that."
"Yeah, sure," replied Jongup, obviously not believing the vampire.
"I'm serious," Daehyun said in a serious tone, which slightly startled Jongup. He was worried that he has angered the immortal. In a more calmer tone though, Daehyun explained, "I have a mate but have been rejected by them. I'm still loyal to them though."
Jongup laughed. "If you call trying to get with me last night 'loyal' then I guess it's a good thing they rejected you," he said a bit too harshly before picking up his sandwich and started to devour it. He had notice the vampire flinch due to his comment. He knew the other was offended when he saw Daehyun's eyes darken. He felt his heart skip a beat out of fear but soon relaxed when Daehyun left the kitchen in a blur.
Seconds later Jongup heard what sounded like the front door open and close. He wondered if it was Daehyun. "Youngjae, follow him," the deep voice of Yongguk ordered. "Junhong, go find Himchan. He was suppose to be back three days ago." That confirmed Jongup's curious thought. He kind of felt bad for what he had said to Daehyun, however, at the same time, he didn't. Why should he when they took him away from his friends and family? Just then Yongguk entered the kitchen and asked, "What did you say to him?"
It was at that moment Jongup began panicking and began regretting his harsh words. Nervously, he gulped down the last bite of his sandwich and told the Pureblood vampire about the conversation he had with the Half-blood. As he did so Yongguk narrowed his eyes, which Jongup was trying to read but was unable to. They show no emotion what so ever. "I didn't mean to offend him," Jongup said in an apologetic tone and looked down at the marble counter. "I'm just mad about the situation..." He admitted.
It was quiet for awhile and Jongup glanced at Yongguk to see the elder staring pass him in blankness. He wondered what the other was staring at and wanted to turn around to look until he remembered Yongguk was a vampire. He was turning his back to what was the predator in his eyes.
