"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

"Good night-" that monster croaked with blood dripping out his mouth and his intestines dripping from the teeth of five other dead zombies, he pressed the pistol to his head and we all tensed, "good luck!"
The gun barked and the Volatiles howled like wolves in reply. Without words we began to run but the twisted thing was that we had just finished a race, the race to stop a madman, and yet the race of our lives wasn't over. No one spoke out in urgency or fear; sporting the uncanny silence that has become a second nature to us all.
The first word spoken was a curse when a Volatile, once burned with parts of it's intestines poking out here and there, instantly broke through the wooden door we were about to go through. It screamed a squeal of excited ecstasy, opening its flower or Predator-like mouth wide and letting it's tongue flare violently as we turned right.
The only exit in that direction was a window, but even that seemed to close as we saw Night Walkers sprinting towards it going to press their way in. The only other turn was again right-
TO A BLOODY DEAD END.
I cursed and we all took the machine AR's from our backs. We all set our feet for only a second before charging, the Volatile from earlier sliding behind us from landing a leap at us and partially collided with the wall where we just were. It was quick to recover and we heard 'friends' behind us moving with the Volatile.
We unloaded the automatic assault rifles into the wall and broke through it. Meatballs, blood, gore and a hoard met us on the other side...
At least almost all the bullets hit something with blood in it...
We cut left, where the cluster was thinnest and Jasmine dropped one of her fire-cracker bombs that bought us valuable time. The fireworks distracted and drew the stupid infected to it before it blew. We took another turn and the doorway to the outside was visible.
Nearly outside our chest mounted flashlights were like beacons in the darkness, like a neon sign that read: FOOD, but it was the only way we could really see.
See the Night Hunter land in the doorway and roar at us...
I was in the lead when we all tried to skid to a stop. It's intestine-like grapple coming out of it's hand tried to lasso me to drag me outside for a midnight snack.
It wasn't our first rodeo...
The group reloaded their weapons and I went toward the Night Hunter. Using momentum I allowed myself to be pulled into the infected to land a skilled kick to the head but it held strong. It roared in rage as I took the knife tactically placed on my chest and shoved it as far as I could inside it's mouth. It still didn't let go so I then elbowed it...
In the mouth, sending the knife poking out the back of it's head and it fell like a chopped evergreen...
The others mowed the zombies at our tail and we ran out into the darkness, the dead converging upon us. We juked and we dodged, all of us ducking, weaving and otherwise moving through the dead but infected were everywhere.
We came to the end of the street and began climbing a three story building. Over the past few months we've been climbing cranes and skyscrapers; a three story building? Pfft.
