Chapter 8: "I'm Fine"

Previously:

"She said that she talked to Robin and Robin said that she was in love with me." Jacob said guiltily.

"WHAT?!?!" Anthony yelled.

"Listen, I am so sorry man. I had no idea that she was in love with me." Jacob said backing away slowly as if Anthony was a bear.

"I DON'T CARE! HOW DID YOU DO IT?!" Anthony asked while not knowing that he is getting over-protective.

"I don't know. I guess ever since you got together with Melody and I have been hanging out with her more, she kind of fell for me." Jacob said while realizing that Anthony was making a fist.

...

"But why do you care? Aren't you in love with Melody?" Jacob askes.

"No! I was never in love with Melody. Don't you know I am just using her to get Robin back?" Anthony states while not realizing that Melody was behind him.

"WHAT?!?! ANTHONY! YOU WERE JUST USING ME?!?!" Melody yells while starting to cry.

...

WE ARE DONE!" Melody yells.

*Melody runs away crying*

"MELODY!" Anthony yells.

"Oh come on Anthony. You don't really like her. Everyone knew except for her that you were just using her to get Robin jealous." Jacob says with a face like telling Anthony he is an idiot.

"Oh so everyone apparently knows how I feel now?" Anthony says while getting all defensive.

"Actually, I am not sure if you really started to actually like her but everyone else convinced me that you honestly hated her and you were still only using her." Jacob says while pointing around to the rest of the hallway.

"Well, yes but I have actually grown to like her a lot. I learned how to be less of a jerk. I can't believe she is actually walking away from me. She reminds me of Robin. So strong about it."

Now:

*In the quad*

"Robin, when are you going to ask Jacob on a date? I know you like him." Makenna says nudging Robin.

"Yeah. I do but what about Anthony?" Robin asks looking up at the sky.

"What about Anthony?" Makenna asks while looking up at the sky with Robin.

"Well, he has a big heart now and he voluteers at animal shelters and orphanages to help lonely children. He even got so attached to one of the orphans that he convinced his mom to adopt her." Robin states while looking back at the school to see Jacob walkign over to them.

"That's just an act Robin. He is only doing that stuff to get you back. Literally everyone knows that he doesn't really love Melody and that he is just using her to get you back. Why won't he just add more cherries to the top of the sundae?" Makenna says while lookign back to see that Robin was staring a Jacob.

"I know he doesn't really like Melody but what if he really does like his new little sister. And what if he really loves those dogs at the animal shelter?" Robin asks while putting her focus back on Makenna.

"Go talk to him Robin. I am begging you!" Makenna states.

"Fine. I will go talk to Jacob." Robin says while getting up.

"Hey Jacob!" Robin says while waving to Jacob.

"Hey Robin. So, I heard that you like someone." Jacob said with a smirk. "We really need to talk about you liking this person." 

"Uh, no we don't." Robin said nervously.

"Uh, why not?" Jacob asked.

"Uh, well, because those rumors are fake. I don't have feelings for him. Or anyone for that matter." Robin lied.

"Oh well, I had great news. I guess it doesn't matter now." Jacob said while starting to walk away.

"Wait! Actually, I didn't want to tell you this but... I actually do like someone." Robin said nervously hoping that he will say that he likes her back.

"Well, I think you and Anthony will make a great couple! Did you know that he was only using Melody to make you jealous? And now I can tell him that it worked! Congratulations!" Jacob says while starting to run towards Anthony.

"WAIT! NO! I DON'T LIKE ANTHONY!" Robin yells, hoping Jacob will hear her. He didn't hear her.

*At the bench with Anthony and Jacob*

"Dude. I know she likes me and she doesn't like you but if we start a rumor about you two getting back together, she can't say 'no' to the entire school. She has too soft of a heart for that. She can't let an entire school down!" Jacob explains.

"Hmm. Intriging Jacob. It actually might work." Anthony exclaims.

*On the lawn of the quad*

"Well, I talked to Jacob." Robin says depressingly.

"And? Does he like you?" Makenna asks excitedly.

"Umm. No. But I figured out that Anthony does like me and now apparently, I am going to be dating Anthony now." Robin says depressingly.

"What?!?! I thought you told Jacob you liked him?" Makenna said confusingly.

"Well, the thing is, I told him that I did like someone and he claimed that he knew who it was but he was thinking that I liked Anthony and he went to go tell Anthony so I technically told him that I liked him." Robin said guiltily.

"ROBIN! Go tell him that you were talking about him and not Anthony! NOW!" Makenna says.

"Wait! I have an idea that can get us out of this mess." Robin says.

"Well? What is it?" Makenna asks.

"Alright. So, how about we start a rumor that me and Jacob are dating. Jacob has too big of a heart to deny it. So, now Anthony will get the clue that I really don't like him. Right?" Robin states.

"OMG! That is the best idea that you have ever told me! It will totally work." Makenna says excitedly.

"I know. Let's go start it." Robin says while grabbing Makenna and dragging her towards the school.
