Useful Apps:

- Photo Annotation Apps  Search for PicSay in the Android Play Store and Skitch in the iTunes stores. Both these apps allow your students to take a picture and then annotate them for submission of evidence that they have understood what they have just taken a picture of.

- Note Taking App - EVERNOTE Evernote is a media rich note taking word processor essentially which can be used on any smart phone, table, PC or Mac. Students can take pictures, video and add audio comments to the one document they are writing in. This could be audio comments from the tutor on their work in the classroom. All their notes made in Evernote become available on every computer / tablet / phone you have evernote installed on.  Website: http://www.evernote.com

- Revision Card Apps: There are a range of Flash Card Apps that can be used with smartphones, tablets, and also with PCs. Search in your phone's market place for a Flash Card app (recommend Kaka Flash Cards [Note, not the Kaka Flash Card 2] , if you have an Android). Most of these apps can be linked to a website called StudyStack  http://www.studystack.com . The useful feature about StudyStack is that it allows you to create your own piles of revision cards which then become available for your students to carry around on their phones, or if they do not have a phone, to view them on any computer. The StudyStack site also lists all the Flash Card Apps it is compatible with for the different types of phones (Androind, iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian etc).

BlueTooth:

Bluetooth solutions can be used for helping with providing information to students in remote locations as well as inside the classroom. Bluetooth solutions including management software can be purchased from companies such as TextBlue http://www.textblue.co.uk  A small paper explaining the different types of wireless technologies, including NFC or Near Field Communication is available for download from: http://tiny.cc/bluetoothdoc
