.o*(Jason's POV)*o.

I looked around at the other six in the clearing. They looked different from how I knew them before, they looked more evil. Luckily, because of my spacesuit, no one could tell what, or how, I felt. For some reason, when the wind blew, I felt power siege through my veins. I suddenly had the urge to fly around, but I didn't.

"... Jason?" A bluefin-looking hand waved in front of me. "You kinda zoned off, you ok?"

I turned to see my amphibian friend looking at me with worried eyes. He looked the same, just a deeper shade of blue all around. "Oh, uh, yeah. I'm fine. Just thinking."

"Still the same 'ole Jason!" Quentin replied and walked off.

He hasn't changed much.

I walked back to the cluster of six other beings, one of which had a pair of black wings and a matching tail. He turned around to face me. I was met with a pair of glowing purple eyes and an evil smile. "Well hello, Jason." It said.

"T-Ty?" I stutter. I was taken aback by how much he had changed and how evil he appeared.

"You are correct. But enough with the reunion, I think we have a job to do!" Ty then spread his wings and took flight. Everyone else spread out and headed out of the clearing. I was able to get a good look at everyone before they left. They all looked relatively the same, except one had a red streak going down his purple cape.

As I sat down in the middle of the clearing, the wind picked up and howled. It seemed to be whispering to me. "...Jason..."

.o*(Mitch's POV)*o.

I walked out of the clearing and into the shaded woods. The shade made me feel cold, so I made my way to a field full of crops. I didn't think that anyone, except Ty, knew what power we possess from the guardians. As I stepped into the sun, I could feel myself grow stronger.

"You, there! Who are you and why are you trampling my crops?" Said a voice to my immediate right. I whipped my head around to see a poor farmer with a pitchfork pointed at me. All I could feel towards this man was pure anger. I then saw his eyes widen and he took off towards a shack. I stood where I was for a few seconds wondering why he ran away as something flickering caught my attention: fire. This flame was not coming from the ground, but my hands. I couldn’t feel any pain from it either, and I could make it grow too. Then it came to me: I had the powers of the fire guardian. What was I going to do with this power!? And...who was my Guardian?

I heard a boom as lava came towards me from all angles, there was no escape. I tried to run, but there was nowhere to run, and a the lava came closer I scrunched my eyes shut so I wouldn’t see myself burning to death. My feet weren’t hot at all... I looked at them and they were on top of the lava. I stepped forward, then again, again, again, again until I was sprinting up the lava waterfalls around me. I could walk on lava, and no fire could hurt me!

“Mitchell Hughes.” I calm but venomous voice came from behind me. I turned to see a man, dressing in and orange shirt, a darker orange jacket and orange shorts with orange checkered sneakers. His skin was tinted red and his hair was ginger and slick back with a red piece at the front. Was he my Guardian? “Hello, Mitchell Hughes” he repeated.

“Um...please just call me Mitch” I replied

“But of course...Mitch. I am Astrid, and I am your Guardian” I could hear the venom in his voice, but it wasn’t trained at me, he was ready to bite anyone but me. So, this was my guardian, he looked like a normal teenage boy! Well, more mature, but still, he looked younger than I was!

“So...what should I do now I have this power Astrid?” I asked, generally confused. He came closer to me, also walking on the lava and stared into my now red eyes.

“You must kill, Mitch. Kill.” Something clicked inside of me and I smirked, revealing pearly white teeth. “But you must keep your powers hidden from the other six, they might not know what has happened and will try and kill you if they saw you with my powers. The only thing they’ll see are your red eyes, so be careful, Mitch. But for now, do as you please, goodbye.” And with that he disappeared in a flurry of fire particles and smoke. It was getting dark and the lava had vanished, so I snapped my fingers and made a small flare on them to use as a torch.

What did Astrid mean by ‘Do as you please’ and yet says that I can’t show my powers? Seems a little counter-productive if you ask me. I walked through the woods being careful not to catch anything on fire. I found some dry twigs, dry grass and some stones, along with a few pigs. I made a circle around with the stones, burnt the wet grass inside the circle to a crisp, laid a patch of dried grass in the centre and set it alight, placing a random twig in the fire when it was getting low. I used the bigger logs I found to make a rack which I can roast my catch on. After a good 3 hours I went to sleep, the flickering light of the fire soon went to sleep with me.
