"But—how is that possible?" I questioned. I ran my fingers over the key lying flat in his hands. I felt the same power radiating from it as the key that held my name. The blue sparkled in the light, sending shades of blue waving across my walls, almost like the waves of an ocean, or almost exactly like his eyes.

"What do you mean? You have this book, and I have the key—whatever it's for, but we can figure it out," he responded, grabbing my shoulders and shaking them gently. As soon as his hands touched my skin, a shock seemingly went through the both of us as we both jumped feet apart, the key clattering to the hardwood floor.

"No, Alexander. I think this is much bigger than what we see, much bigger than just us having these strange meetings," I said with wonderment in my voice, ignoring the shock that just occurred between us.

"No! First of all, don't tell me what you think. I need real answers, and if we can figure out how to stop this, I won't mind even one bit if I never see you again," he snarled, stepping closer to me. He reached out and snatched the red book out of my hands and angrily turned away from me.

"Hey! Give that back!" I shouted as I lunged at him, attempting to get the book back. He simply held the book up and out of my reach, reminding me of something a young child would do to a younger sibling. "Real mature." Despite how handsome he was, there was no way this guy could be my soulmate--he was hostile, immature, and most of all; he was supposed to be my Clan's enemy. And then it hit me. Maybe he was appearing before me to spy and gain intelligence on my Clan. Whatever his reasons were, I needed that book back, and I wasn't giving it up without a fight.

I stepped away from him, and he cautiously lowered the book, opening it and he began to flip through the first few pages. I could sense the confusion within him, but I didn't have time to ponder this--I was on a mission. I lunged at him once again, and as I knocked into him, we crashed to the ground, sending the book flying across the room. Every time we touched, waves of electric shock sizzled through every vein in my body. It was as if I was touching an electric current of sorts, but it was pleasurable. As he squirmed underneath of me, I attempted pinning him to the ground, but he was much too strong. He shoved me off and threw me into the wall.

My head crashed heavily against the dense wall, leaving a gaping hole in it and I felt warmth begin to spread around it. I reached around to feel my wound, only for my fingers to be met with blood-soaked splinters. Dizziness quickly overcame me, my legs became Jello, and I collapsed to the floor. I struggled to stand up, but as I managed to do so; Alexander spun around, book clutched in hand.

He flew towards me, fangs bared, and slammed my head into the wall once again. He stretched his hands around my neck and twisted it. Before everything went black, I felt the bones popping in and out of place where he had snapped my neck. Agonizing pain shot through my body and it all became too much for me to handle.

A loud boom echoed in my already-ringing ears, and my body rattled against the floor. As I opened my eyes, a bright light blurred my vision. I squinted at the light, trying to figure out what it was. As I stared at it, it morphed into my candle light. I realized it was still the same night, which meant I had been out for awhile, thanks to Alexander snapping my neck. I rubbed the back of my neck, wanting more than anything to get my revenge against him.

Glancing around the room once again, I realized I was alone again. Alexander was gone and he had taken my book with him. Mixed emotions flooded me; my blood boiled out of rage for him hurting me and stealing my book, but I was also worried. I didn't know when I would see him again or how I'd get that book back. I wasn't even sure what caused the meetings I had with him.

As I stood, I noticed there was a brass key lying on my floor. As I neared it, blue sparkles caught my eye. Alexander had forgotten to retrieve his key. Reassurance and hope flooded my body. This meant he would soon return, and I would get the chance to steal my book back.
