Pidge Gunderson was never one to believe in soulmates or really anything that doesnt have any logical proof like life in outer space, tell me, with all those planets out there there's bit more life. One thing she deffiently thought was fake though, was the hanahaki disease, she's never known anyone who got it and there was really no proof of its existance aside from pictures that could easily be faked, online.
That is, until she fell in love with the school flirt, Lance McClain, they were friends before this but she never seemed to notice her own feelings until one day when Keith asked her about crushes... The girl had thought about it for a moment before recalling all the times she caught herself day dreaming about lances almond colored hair and the way it flew in the wind or his ocean blew eyes that she pratically got lost at sea looking in...

{Short flashback}
"So Pidgeon. Got anyone in mind?~" Keith teased a bit, nudging her a little. They were studying and it was too quiet for his liking."What do you mean Keith?" The girl cocked an eyebrow, looking at the older male with a half smile.
"Like crushes. I mean, I'm dating my elementary school crush."
"Yea yea, shush up about you and shiro..." She chuckled before thinking
"I mean... there's one boy I kinda like, I dont wanna think about it too much though." She gave a small shrug and went back to reading her book, trying to ignore keith.
Keith smirked a little "ooooo~ do tell." He nudged her more, smirking "who is he?"
"You probably don't know him," She lied "He's got amazing blue eyes... Caramel colored hair... oh, and he always smells like the ocean breeze..." She seemed awestruck, day dreaming about the Cuban male.
Keith took a minute to process what pidge said and snorted "It's lance isn't it?"
".... maybe." She flushed and smiled happily.
Keith snorted again and shook his head "be careful with that one love, he will do what it takes to survive..." He patted pidges back.
"Did you just quote Hamilton to me?"
"What? Are you not satisfied?" The boy smirked and looking at her.
"Boy, you got me helpless." She laughed and shook her head. "Get back to reading you nerd."
Both the kids went back to reading and studying, pidge day dreaming about lance, little did she know the Cuban male would soon be the one that ruins her life without even knowing it.
~~She knew her love for lance was one sided, she knew she'd push her feelings away and she knew that anytime lance flirted with someone it made her sick. Not too long after she realized these feelings, she started to feel a constant burning feeling in her lungs but ignored it for the most part.
This went on for weeks, almost 2 months.
Now back to the fact she didn't believe in all this hanahaki bullshit... until she got it. The girl had tried to hide it but every hour or so she'd cough up a flowers worth of light blue Hydrangea petals and every now and then... blood.

Pidge sighed softly, sitting in the middle of her room and trying to clean up the blue petals and blood before she had to leave for school. Once the goal was achieved, she threw away the petals, wiped away the blood on a tissue and re-aplied a bit of makeup to cover to the bit of blood that stained her lips.
She walked out of her room, her green lion hoodie that was about two sizes too big on her, pulled over her torso, navy blue knee length shorts, black converse, and her backpack slung over her shoulder. The Carmel haired girl walked downstairs, to the kitchen in her shared house, Keith, her best friend, had a couple dirty dishes scattered around the table. She rolled her eyes and muttered softly before quickly grabbing an Apple for breakfast and walking out, heading to school.
