Morning had broken and I lay there motionless on the bed of pins. The pain was unbearable yet some how I had managed to get some sleep! I found that relaxing your meusles and letting the needles go as far as possible helped... some how!

Anyway the morning arrived and it was the guard who came to collect me and undo my chains, so for a couple of minuets I could walk around the room, trying to see/ destroy any thing that looked like a tutoring lesson, then I saw the trail of red following me!

I turned around to see my feet cut and bruised, peices of glass lay all around me, making my bare feet bleed. But how come I couldn't feel any pain? I must have got so used to the pins that the mini sized blades of glass made no difference as they dug into my heels almost carving my flesh from the bone.

I tiptoed over to the bed, sitting on the only pillow, trying to not stand on any more glass and looked into the bedside table draws to find no bandages or plaster - nyet!

I guess I was just going to bleed to death!

Every inch of the floor was covered in glass, that I was surprised how I did not notice before as I slowly pulled the blades out of my heels.

Every movement I made seemed to kill my whole body. Pain, excruciating pain!

"Having fun there?" I jumped not realising anyone was in the room with me for I did not hear the iron jail door move, yet standing right next to me, staring down, leaning against the wall was Jake. A... Smile on his face. I didn't answer trying to prove how dead to me he was. So in return he bent down and took my foot delecatly in his hands, trying so hard not to nudge a single piece of mirror sticking from my foot.

"You should really look, before you go, you know!" And with those words he gently took one of the peices between his fingers and slowly pulled it out from my skin. I bit my lip, not wanting to scream infront of him, incase that was what he wanted.

Once my feet were clear of glass blades, Jake pulled my legs back onto the bed and, out of what seemed no-where, started to bandage my ankles like socks, stopping my feet from bleeding any more.

"What.. what are you doing?" I asked in shock, while he continued to wrap my feet up.

"What do you think? I'm making you feel better." I blushed a little, until he looked up at me. Looking away from him, I let him finish plastering my feet before I pushed him away, hugging my knees so he couldn't see my face, crying.

"Why are you doing this? I hate you! You've ruined me. Why are you being so cruel, yet kind?" Peaking my eyes up just above my legs, I followed him with my stare as he walked back to the door, opening it and reviling a broom, closing the door and turning back around to face me, before freezing at the spot.

"You... hate me? I mean I'm not surprised, but... I never thought you would actually say it." He started to sweep up the glass on the floor, creating a small pile in the corner of the room. "But... Cidney, I'm sorry.. I" Just Before Jake could finish his sentence the door swung open to reveal 'him'. At the sight of his dad, Jake threw the broom at me and stared at my feet, which I assumed was a hint to hide the bandages, which I did my sliding them off the bed towards the wall, looking innocent.

"What are you two doing?" He asked looking from Jake to me and back again.

"I was just waking her"

"Well she's obviously awake. Now move your useless ass out of here. We need to prepare for the next stage" I didn't like the sound of that.
