Lucy's POV
"But I was looking for you," my head jolted up and our eyes met. "Wh- what do you mean?"
"Lucy. You really don't remember me?" He said feeling a little hurt. "Wait, you can't be who I think..." my voice trailed off, trying to recollect my memory. "Wait are you..."
"Natsu Dragneel," he answered and pointed at himself. I felt a smile crawling up my saddened face. "From all that time ago? Natsu? Is it really you?" I felt more tears but this time they were tears of joy. I noticed that I was getting closer and closer to him.
We embraced each other, and he buried his head into my shoulder. It was getting a bit hard to breathe but I didn't mind.
Flashback
A long time ago, in the 2nd grade...
"Okay class there will be a new student, would you like to introduce yourself?" The teacher said with a forced smile. "My name is Lucy, and I'm 7 years old, And I love to collect Keychains!" I said with a big smile on my face.
Natsu's POV
I was staring at her and couldn't look away, her big brown chocolate eyes, they memorized me. "Hey she's pretty right?" The boy next to me whispered. "Yeah She is," I whispered, grinning. But little did we know that the girl on the other side of me heard every word, and she was jealous.
So there Lucy, the new girl, came down the aisle next to me. She sat right in front of the girl next to me. As a time went by, the girl was getting more and more jealous.
"OW!" Lucy screamed. The girl had tugged on Lucy's pick-tails while the teacher was out of the room. "Hey!" Lucy turned around furiously looking at the hair in the girls hands. There were tears in her eyes, most likely from the pain. "Hey you're going to far!" I yelled grabbing the hair out of her hands. She didn't say a word, just darted her head away from the both of us. She herself was furious, not only with Me but with herself. She knew she'd ruined any chance she had with me. And the rest of that year she didn't mess with Lucy again, until the third grade.
Me and Lucy were no longer in the same class.
Lucy's POV
Me and Natsu were no longer in the same class anymore. I was devastated, we'd grown so close as friends, but what I was really devastated about is the girl who I had to share a class with. The girl that Natsu protected me from, the girl that tried and tried and tried, over and over again to bully and blackmail me. She was indeed very jealous of Natsu and I's friendship. I was like an open target, her words, they hurt me so bad. Then things got physical, her and her group of friends picked off me like hungry sharks. I was alone, until the day that Natsu saved me. He scared her off for good.
Then in the 4th grade we were together again. Finally. I were closer than ever. And one day I introduced him to my father, and he came over to play all the time. We couldn't get enough of each other.
One day when he was over at my house we snuck into the backyard of my house without papa knowing. We were holding hands as we walked to a large tree. There, we sat together behind it looking out into the sunset sky. "Hey Lucy?"
"What is it Natsu?" I say looking over at him, have we fallen in love? This young? No it can't be. "Can I kiss you?" He whispers, still staring immensely into my now round eyes. I didn't speak for a moment, it felt like we were being watched, like the bully back at school had been stalking us. "Yes," I say very sure of my decision.
We both got to our knees, we both were waiting for one of us to move. And then it happens, Natsu starts moving closer to me. I sit perfectly still my eyes slowly closing as he drew near.
