TRIGGER WARNING: This will contain depictions of depression and cutting.

She sat in her room, tears streaming down her face as she made multiple gashes on her arm. She layed down the box cutter she was using as the blood coming from her wounds dripped onto her bed. She finally stood, going to the sink to rinse it off with cold water, and bandaging her wounds. Afterwards she laid down in bed, falling asleep, hoping to not wake up the next day...
You opened your eyes, the light flooding into your room waking you up. You looked down to see your bandaged arms. Groaning, knowing full well your attempt failed again, you sat up.
"Just another day... alive I guess." You mutter quietly to yourself. "If you call being depressed every day alive."
Sure, you had your friends, but why would you talk to them? All you would do is bother them right? They haven't tried to come see you, so obviously they don't want you around.
You sigh as you lay in bed, staring at your closed window, then up into the pitch blackness of your room. You close your eyes to go back to sleep when you get a call.
You pick up your phone to a familiar voice on the other line.
     "Hello?"
"Oh.. Hey Bulma... how've you and Yamcha been?"
"Oh we bro- Hey (Y/N), are you okay?"
You look down at your left wrist, then switch the phone to your other hand and look at your right wrist. You stared at your legs as well, scars old and new covering all 4. You sigh into the phone, fighting off tears.
"Yeah Bulma... I'm fine. I uh, just woke up.."
"Oooookay... anyway I'm headed to Master Roshi's, would you like to come? I'm sure your old master would like to see you."
"Oh um, not really. I'm sorry Bulm-"
"Nonsense! We haven't seen you in years! I'm coming to get you and you better be ready!" And with that, she hung up.
You hang up your phone with a long sigh. You get up, trudging ever so slowly to your closet, throwing on a sweater and some pants, along with whatever shoes you can find. You knew there was no point in calling Bulma and telling her no, she's too stubborn after she's made up her mind.
You look at yourself in the mirror, slightly brushing your hair and spraying some perfume. You sigh as you look at yourself. "They're not gonna accept you now and you know that. You've gained weight, you look like shit, hell you're no different from one."
You cover your mirror, and walk to your living room, sitting on your couch and waiting for your friend. Finally, about 30 minutes later you hear a knock at your door.
With a sigh, you stand up and walk to the door, putting on your best fake smile.
As soon as it opens, you get tackled in a hug. "(Y/N)! It's been forever since I've seen you! How have you been?"
"Oh uh, I've been fine." You say, in a not so interested tone. It's not like you meant to, it's just how you've come to talk now.
Bulma pulls from the hug, her hands finding yours, a look of concern crosses her features. "Hey are you okay? You're usually more bubbly than this?"
"I'm still kinda half asleep." You say, faking a smile. She doesn't seem to buy it but she doesn't argue it either.
"Okay. Well, we should get going." She says.
You nod, closing and locking your door from behind you and get in her flying car and you both fly off to Master Roshi's.
During the car ride, Bulma kept glancing at you from time to time. "Hey uh, (Y/N)? I was wondering, why are you wearing pants and a sweatshirt on such a warm day?"
"Oh um, it's kind of my style now." You say, looking at the window, your smile changing to your usual stoic expression.
You see Bulma squint her eyes through the window reflection, and you see worry cross over her face. You look at your arm and notice your sleeve had been pulled up slightly, and your fresh cuts were very visible.
"Curse these damn sweatshirts. Should have chosen a hoodie." You say, anger in your tone.
The flying car stops, and you notice Bulma giving you a stern look, though you can see the obvious worry as well.
"(Y/N), why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you call me or come visit if you were feeling like this? Hell there was Goku, Roshi, Krillin, Chi-Chi, all of us."
"Because, I was already a burden back then. I'm not gonna bother you guys with any more of my problems."
"Your problems don't bother us. Especially me. You have no idea how much I care for you." She grabs your hands, and her face gets closer to yours. "(Y/N), I-"
Suddenly her phone starts ringing, causing her to grit her teeth. She answers it, pushing the button to accept the call aggressively. "What?" She snaps at the person on the other end.
"Hey Bulma!" Said a goofy voice that you knew all too well. Goku. Funny, used to be Goku's goofy nature always cheered you up, and now not even your last resort coping mechanism helped. "Are you goin to Roshi's too?"
"Yeah. And guess who's with me." Bulma said, smiling at you.
     "Is it Yamcha?" He asked.
"Nope. It's  (Y/N)." She said, winking as if the goofy man could see her.
"Really!? Oh wow it's been forever since I've seen her! Is she there with you?"
     "Yep."
"Hey Goku." You say, your voice the same as ever.
"Awesome! I'll bring Gohan! Oh an Chi-Chi! She's been asking about you lately! Well, see you there!" And with that, he hung up.
You sigh, looking back out the window. Bulma gave you a concerned look, but didn't say anything and then drove off to Roshi's place.

Once you got there and landed, you stepped out of the car, putting your hands in your hoodie and looking down at the ground. You heard Roshi's door open, and footsteps on the porch.
"(Y/N)!" Said an excited Krillin, running up to you. "It's about time I see my best friend after all these years. How've you been?"
"Oh uh." You force a smile. "Fine."
Krillin gave you a questioning glance. "Is everything okay? You seem like somethings bothering you."
     "Yeah I'm fine." You say.
Everyone looked at you, but didn't question it further. Soon enough, the Son family arrived as well, and you all socialized. Well, they  socialized. You, on the other hand, kept to yourself, barely talking and ignoring everyone as much as possible.
Soon enough, Bulma walked up to you, that concerned look on her face once again. "Alright (Y/N),  what's wrong? You've barely socialized at all and you've kept to yourself. What's going on? Why were those scars on your-"
You growled quitely. You had enough of everyone asking if you were ok. Couldn't they just leave you be? "Would you just stop!" You yelled, startling Bulma and causing everyone else to look at you. "I'm sick and tired of always being asked 'are you okay' when obviously I'm not! Did you ever stop to think that maybe I wanted  to keep to myself all these years? During this stupid gathering!?"
"(Y/N), I'm just worried. We're all worried. You used to be so happy, and now your like this with those scars and cuts on your wrist." Bulma said, grabbing your arm and pulling your sleeve up. You hear everyone gasp at the amount of cuts and scars on your arm.
You pull your arm away from her and give the most evil glare you can. "Do that again Bulma, and I swear you'll regret it." With that you ran outside and flew off to some distant island to be alone. But what you didn't know was you were being followed by Goku and the Krillin, the other following suit in their cars.
You finally reached an island, running deep into the forestry to hide in the trees. You hoped you weren't followed by everyone. You put your back against a tree, then slumped down, finally crying and letting everything out.
"Good going idiot." You muttered to yourself. You heard rustling in the bushes, but assumed it was an animal and paid it no mind. "You lashed out and everyone's probably mad at you and hates you now. Not like they ever truly did anyway..."
You kept crying, even when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You looked up to see none other than Bulma, giving you a look of sadness and worry. You pulled your shoulder away from her, but she just kneeled down in front of you.
"(Y/N), we don't hate you." She said. You looked to see everyone else giving you the same look as she was. "You're our friend. But why didn't you tell us what was going on? We could have helped, or gotten you help."
"All I've ever been is a burden to you guys. I've always gotten in the way. Why would I just burden you with my problems?" You say, pulling your knees up to your chest, resting your head against them.
"Oh sweetie, you're not a burden to us." Chi-Chi said.
"Yeah. You're our best friend. We were worried sick after you just disappeared with no trace left at all." Krillin added.
"Especially me, (Y/N)." Bulma said, cupping your cheek in one hand while talking hold of your other in her free one. "I could never hate you. In fact, I like you. A lot. I grew fond of you after knowing you for a few years."
You looked at her surprised. You had feelings for her too, but she always talked about having a boyfriend and she was always off and on with Yamcha, so you never thought she felt the same. "Bulma I-" Once again, tears flowed down your cheeks, but this time, they weren't from sadness. You tackled her in a hug, and then kissed her.
Once you pulled away and got up, you helped up Bulma as well. You both dusted yourselves off and then joined hands. You finally have a reason to try. To not give up. To find the help you need. And you knew Bulma would be with your through every step.
