Love Finds it Way

We are family

Grace was packing her and Charity's things when there was a knock on her door.

"Come in!" She called out

Diana entered without saying a word at first. She sat in a chair nearest the window. Grace stopped packing and sat on the bed with her back to Diana.

"We just want to be a part of her life." Diana said

"I know." Grace sighed and sat down on her bed. Diana came and sat beside her.

"Can you at least bring her to California this summer?" Diana asked with sad eyes

Grace turned to face Diana. She could tell that Diana was pleading with her. These people were killing her emotionally. She didn't know what the right thing to do was at that point. She wanted Charity to know her family, all of them, but this would complicate so many things and it would make people ask so many questions. Questions she was not yet ready to answer. Her sons already suspected it to be King, but she would assure them that the father of her child was someone they need not worry about. She didn't want them to worry.

"I think that Charity coming to visit will only complicate things. People will start to ask questions." Grace said "I am not ready for that."

"Grace, I am being as civil as I can be with what you have hidden from us already. We love you and Charity very much."

"I know you do Diana." Grace said

"Come on Grace. We will come up with some sort of job that you can do for us. There is so much that needs to be remodeled anyway so why not come and work for us this summer?@ Diana asked

"Are you serious? You want me to come work in California for the summer, just so you can spend time with Charity?" Grace asked

"Yes. I will insist that you stay with us. We can watch Charity while you do what you do best, we can bond and you can think about how you are going to tell King." Diana added

"Uh, I don't know." Grace said. "I don't know how to tell him.

"Come on Grace. He needs to know, but let's push that at the bottom of the to-do list, why not focus on your visit first." Diana begged

Grace rubbed her forehead. "I will not make any promises about this. Yes I would love to do more work for your company but this is far more complicated than a job."

"I agree and you and King complicated it with having relations, did you not?" Diana asked with a raised eyebrow. Grace swallowed before speaking.

"I suppose you have a valid point." Grace told her.

Diana smiled and leaned over to hug Grace. She embraced her. Grace hugged her back.
