"YURI!!! You've been practicing that move ALL DAY! How have you not gotten it yet?!" Yakov yelled as Yuri stepped off the ice. Yuri had been trying to perfect a new move for the next season, but he just couldn't seem to get it right. "Maybe it's because you're BURSTING MY EARDRUMS WITH YOUR SCREECHING!" He yelled back. Yakov had been especially hard on him since the last season. After winning the GPF, he set a new standard that he had to keep. Needless to say, it's VERY exhausting.
Yakov continued to yell at him the rest of practice. "You need to fix your form!" "You need to keep your balance!" "That isn't even close!" As soon as practice ended, he ran out of the rink like his back was on fire. There was no way he was staying in there to be scolded. He quickly ran to the train station to catch his ride home and waited for the next stop.
Soon he got off the train and got in a taxi. He couldn't wait to get back to his house. Well, more like temporary apartment. He and Otabek got really close, and he eventually told Otabek he liked him, but that's a story for another time. For now, he and Otabek were sharing an apartment in New York, since that's where the next event was being held. He and Yuri are boyfriends, but they still have not told anybody. The LAST thing they need right now is drama from the press.
Yuri let out a sigh of relief when he finally reached the door of their room. He quickly unlocked the door and ran to the couch, throwing himself onto it. Otabek came out of his room to see Yuri, because he missed him. He closed the door that Yuri had left wide open, the laid next to him. "Wow Yura, you look tired." He said with his chin in his hand. "Tch. I could say the same for you too." He retorted in his usual, grumpy way.
"Yeah... I've been running around all day helping my family members here. Not to mention my training..." He said as he hugged his grumpy cat. "Don't even get me started! Yakov bearly even let me rest the whole day!" He complained. Otabek chuckled and kissed him on his cheek. "You look so cute when you're mad..." Yuri blushed and pushed his face away with his hand. "S-shut up, beka!"
He tried to push him away out of spite, but Otabek is stronger, and Yuri was extremely fatigued. "I'm so tired... I can bearly move..." Yuri said in between yawns. He rubbed his eyes and started dozing off. Otabek carried him to his bed and set him down. "Get some rest, Yura." He said as he kissed his lover on his forehead. He took off his shirt and got in bed with him.
No matter how tired they are, they always find home in each other.
