Michael
As you pull open the front door to your home, the sound that welcomes you was not what you were expecting. After a long day of shopping with some friends, your plan was to eat a nice meal with your family, get the kids in bed after they get cleaned up, and have Michael rub your aching shoulders and back, to relieve all the stress you've been feeling from work and chasing after 2 toddlers and a crawling 19 month old. Your youngest daughter, McKenna, is crying her little lungs out, while you can hear Michael telling your 3 year old son, Grayson to clean up his cars before he steps on them again. You place your bags down in a pile and run into the lounge room, and pull McKenna out of her high chair.
"Hey princess!" You coo out to her. Her face noticeable brightens, and her blue green eyes that very much resemble her fathers widen. You place a quick kiss on her chubby little cheek, then follow the sounds of your oldest, Charlotte, yelling "Daddy! I wanna have a snack!" and Michael yelling back, "Wait a little. Mum should be home soon then I'll start dinner!" When you make your way upstairs, McKenna happily resting in your arms, you see Michael go into Lottie's room. You take a chance and turn the other way into Grayson's room instead.
"Hey bub!" you say, taking in the scene of his toy cars scattered all around his room.
"Mummy!!" He shoots off the floor from where he was putting them into the car bin, and gives your legs a hug. You ruffle his hair and squat down to give him a proper hug, while making sure you don't drop McKenna. Once Grayson pulls away, you tell him if he finishes cleaning soon you'll let him have ice cream. He eagerly nods, and you head down to Lottie's room to see what she and Michael are up to.
You stand by the doorframe, watching as Michael tells Charlotte about how you two met. It's her favorite story.
"And then mummy turned around and said, 'I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you!' but when I really looked at her I think I stopped breathing. I don't think I've ever seen someone that beautiful before." Charlotte nods eagerly, wanting to hear more of the story she's heard countless times at bed time. Michael continues to tell the story until McKenna sneezes.
Both Michael and Charlottes gazes fly towards the door, wondering who it is.
"MUMMY!"
Charlotte squeals, flying off of Michaels lap, and barreling towards your legs.
"I drew you a picture today but I think daddy put it on the frigerator."
You laugh at her poor English skills, and lean down to place a kiss on her head.
"You'll have to show me during dinner, Char."
She nods and runs out of the room, doing whatever 4 year olds have to do.
You smile, and look over at Michael.
He walks towards you and pulls you into a hug, pressing a somewhat lingering kiss to your lips, but still being mindful of McKenna.
"How was your day?" He questions.
You smile, and take a pause to take in your husband before responding.
"Pretty good actually. I got some new stuff for me, and just stuff for the kids. Nothing too exciting."
He nods, and grabs McKenna from you, placing a kiss on her nose, that resembles yours.
That's the thing that you and Michael adored about your kids. Charlotte looks just like Michael, where as Grayson gets his looks from you. But McKenna has different features from both of you, making it easily to tell that all three kids were yours.
Two hours later, dinner has been eaten, baths have been taken, and all three kids are fast asleep in their own rooms.
You walk out of your bathroom finished with brushing your teeth and removing all of your makeup. Michael walks into your room, done with checking on the kids to make sure they were all truly sound asleep. Michael pulls his shirt off and tosses it to you, causing you to pull yours off to put his on. Just as your about to pull his shirt over your head, Michael comes over towards where you are sat on the bed, and starts rubbing your shoulders.
"You looked tense during dinner. Everything alright?"
You sigh and respond, finally happy to let out what's been bothering you lately.
"Mikey you and I both know those kids are everything to us but looking after those three everyday plus working, it's just too much. I haven't spent a proper day with you since Charlotte was younger too and it's starting to get to me."
Michael's hands are busy working out the knot in your lower back, but he still manages to press a loving kiss to your neck and reply.
"What about the nights where Grayson and McKenna were created? I mean, I'm not totally sure about you but I'd definitely consider both those nights pretty amazing. And I'd consider them dates."
You try not to let out a moan, and Michael has worked his hands up your back, relieving months worth of tension and stress.
"Yeah but I'm 34. Your 35. We're still younger, and I just wanna make sure we can have dates or something before it's too late."
"Y/N, I was talking to Zayn, and he told me him and Perrie have date nights all the time even though their kids are 7 and 9. Age is just a number."
"Yeah I guess." You reply. You turn around to face Michael, and he pulls you into a hug.
"Remember I married you because I love you to the moon and back. I don't mind sticking the kids with mum or one of the guys so we can have a night to ourselves."
With, that Michael presses a deep kiss to your lips. When you pull away, you crawl under the covers, cuddling into Michael's side, and he turns off the lamp next to the bed.
"Remember, nothing is ever too much for Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
