Karina leaned outside the wall of the Salvatore Boarding House. She was deciding when she'd actually walk inside and grace everyone with her presence. She had been having an internal battle for awhile until she heard the voice she'd been wanting to hear since 1945 when he left her.

"I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odd years, and I've never came across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?"

Karina decided that would be when she walked into the house.

"Well, werewolves and vampires don't exactly get along darling. Besides there are very little packs left and they usually reside in the mountains. Anymore questions?" She asked while smirking and raising an eyebrow.

To say that Damon was shocked was an understatement. His jaw was possibly on the floor by now. Here he was. Looking at his first love for the first time since 1945 when he left her. To be honest, he had no hope, no faith in her. He never thought she'd make it as a vampire. But immortality seems to be doing her justice.

"What's the matter sweetheart? Cat got your tongue?" Karina asked Damon as she took a step in his direction. Damon quickly came back to his senses and was now able to form sentences.

"What are you doing here?" That was the only thing he had to say to her. After all this time.

Karina scoffed. "I haven't seen you since 1945. That's almost 67 years Damon." Damon studied her appearance. She still looked as beautiful as ever. Mostly because she doesn't age, but still, her beauty was ever so alluring.

"You can't blame me for being shocked. I never expected you to make it as a vampire. So I'm surprised to see you've made it this far." Damon simply shrugged. Karina was silent for a moment. Her silence menacing, and her glare piercing.

"I'm hungry." Karina said after glaring at her former lover for 5 minutes. Damon walked towards her.

"Let me show you to the basement then." Damon had been warned ahead of time. He had been told by none other than Katherine Pierce herself, that Karina would be coming. That she'd come back for him. But he simply brushed it off.

"Come on Damon, you and I both know that you never spent 145 years being in love with me. I was never your first love, that spot is reserved for Karina."

Damon looked at Katherine. He froze at her words. He was almost certain that no one else knew about her except for him.

"She's.... Don't speak of her Katherine. She's long dead." Damon knew that last time he saw Karina, she had been freshly turned into a vampire, without knowing who her sire was. But to him, the girl he once knew, he once loved, was dead.

"That's not true. And you know that. In fact, she wouldn't be too happy to hear you say that. She'll come for you eventually Damon. And you better prepare, because she's ruthless. Even more than me and ripper Stefan combined." Katherine smirked maliciously.

Him, thinking that there was no way that Karina Marino was still alive and walking. He had clearly been wrong.

As Damon and Karina made their way down to the basement the others, Stefan, Elena and Alaric, took note of their close proximity.

"Who is she?" The Gilbert girl asked. For once, Stefan didn't know the answer to that. He had never seen the girl before a day in his eternal life.

"I have no idea." Stefan shrugged.

Down in the basement, Damon had given Karina a few blood bags to calm her hunger. He watched her the whole time she drained the two of three blood bags dry. He studied her features, from her silky long blonde hair. To her plump, soft pink lips. Her milky, smooth skin.
