chapter 1

*Katie pov*

"WAKE UP BITCH!" My mom yelled at the top of her lungs. she turned the light on in my room and that just so happened to blind me since the light was right in front of my face.

"Why it's 7 am on a Saturday," I addressed.

"Because you have chores to do," she replied showing me a whole handwritten list of all that I had to do today. She probably slaved over it all night

"Whatever I knew this coming anyways" I groaned getting up out of bed while my mom left the room. I walked over and close my hard wooden door, and get in a pair of black jeans, a black crop top, and a red and black flannel. I put on my clothes, opened up the door and went to the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth. I then walked back to my room, and look at the list of the first I have to do is.

"KATIE GET YOUR ASS MOVING," my mom yelled.

"OKAY OKAY!" I yelled back.

"Don't you dare yell at me young lady or else I'll find more chores for you to do," mom warned. I look back at my list and see the first thing I have to do is go to H-E-B.

"Ugh, I wish Awsten took me with him when he left home. I miss so much and I haven't seen him in two years." I thought to myself. I grab my phone and check where waterparks were today with sleeping with sirens. I get to the picture in my phone and see that they are in Huston. I can go finally see Awsten for the first time in two years hopefully he takes me with him for the rest of tour. I go back upstairs grab a backpack and put a few pairs of clothes toiletries some water bottles and my phone, and it's charger and put in three hundred dollars that I had saved up for this moment. I Put on my backpack and walked down the stairs toward the door.

"where do you think you're going with that backpack?" mom asked

"It's so I can carry the stuff I'm walking back" I replied.

"Alright fine. But, you better be home by 9:00,"Mom says.

"Yeah okay." I replied laughing to myself a bit,  I turned the doorknob to the door and walked outside. I took out my phone, and see that Awsten posted an Instagram story that he was at       H-E-B. I squealed in excitement as I  put my phone away and picked up the pace in my walking to see if I could catch Awsten while he was still there. Once I got to the store  I walked in and right away I see a tall man with bright purple hair. Yep, that's my brother. As soon as he was finished checking out with 5 gallons of orange juice, and four packs of blueberries I walked over behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and dropped everything on the ground

"Katie!! Oh my god! how are you!! How is everything going?? I missed you so much!!" He hugged me as tight as he could and didn't let go for the longest time 

"everything is okay I guess. Mom is being bitchy as ever and put me to work right as you left" I answered

"Oh no Katie bear I'm so sorry!" he said as he kept hugging me. Katie bear was the nickname he called me when I ran to him when things were going wrong at the house. I couldn't help it but shed a few tears because I just missed him so much.  Things actually felt so great just being in his arms.

*Awsten pov*

"guys I'll be right back I'm going into H-E-B do yall want anything?" I asked

"Nope I'm good," Geoff answered.

"yeah me too," Otto and Jawn chimed in.

"alright cool" I replied. I walked out of the bus and started walking into H-E-B. I grabbed a cart and walked over to the orange juice. I grabbed five gallons of orange juice and placed them in the cart. I took a picture and posted it on my Instagram story. I then walked over to the fruit section with all the berries. I grabbed four packs of blueberries and then walked over to the self-checkout aisle to pay. I grabbed the first orange juice and put it in a bag. I grabbed the second orange juice and then placed it in the bag as well. I continued until I had finished with all of the orange juices. I then grabbed the blueberries and put them in. When I had finished putting in the last blueberry pack, I put my money into the machine. The total was $24.96. I grabbed my change and then I started to grab everything. as I bend down I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw that it's Katie.I drop everything and I say,"Katie!! Oh my god! how are you!! How is everything going?? I missed you so much!!" I hugged her as I could and didn't let go for the longest time.

"Everything is good I guess. Mom is being bitchy as ever and put me to work right as you left," she answered.

"Oh no Katie bear I'm so sorry!" I kept hugging her. I thought to myself while hugging her "You know...I am 20 and I can legally be Katie's guardian. I'm pretty sure I can win the courts if need be. Katie has a bunch of proof and so does the rest of our family. Well, the ones that love us anyways" I let go and look at Katie "Hey Katie?"

"Yes, Awsten?" 

 "I know this seems really far fetch and out of the blue, but How about you stay with me for the rest of the tour and you won't have to deal with mom. Would you like that?" I ask as I kiss her forehead.

"Oh my god really Awsten?!? You're joking right?" Katie questioned

"No, I'm not joking I am dead serious." I say laughing a bit "I felt really bad when I left you all alone and I couldn't take you and be your guardian because I just wasn't old enough yet. But, now I am and I want to be your guardian so you don't have to deal with that wench and whore of a mother ever again" I smiled 

"Oh my god!" said Katie. She hugged me tight again and I hugged her back "This is the best news I have gotten all year so far" 

"Well, it's what I'm here for. I love you so much and I can't let you be hurt anymore"  I exclaimed.

"Okay!"

"Alright let's go" I replied. I grabbed her hand and started walking out of   H-E-B. Katie looked up at me and said

"Hey Awsten what about your bags," Katie reminded.

"Oh shit yeah those," I laughed. I let go of her hand and walked back inside the store. I grabbed the bags and then walked back out. I pointed out where the bus is and we both walked over there. we walked up the steps and I opened the door. "Sup I'm back. Also, Y'all remember Katie right? well once this tour ends I'm going to see if I can become her legal guardian so she won't have to deal with our horrible mom anymore. You guys know how bad she is"

"Oh yeah, she's horrible! No offense" Replied Geoff

"None taken!" says Katie

"So is she just going to stay with us for the rest of the tour?" asked Otto

"Yeah, I thought that would be okay. But, I wanted to check with you guys to make sure it was okay"

"Hell yeah that's totally fine with me!" said Geoff

"Me too!' added otto

"sweet! well Katie, Here is your new lovely house!  I know it probably smells horrible and isn't the best but hey, it's a lot better than moms" I laughed a bit. I moved out of the way so that Katie could get on the bus and then I closed the door. I put all of the orange juice and berries in the fridge and then plopped down next to Geoff who was playing Mario Kart. Things finally seemed to be going okay
