They were both 16. They slowly looked at each other and grabs hold of their hands.
"Forever?"
"Forever"
Forever. What a word, a promise, to stay with each other. They leapt off the cliff and into the brisk dark water under them.
As they were walking around town they stopped into a shop to grabs some stuff for their night out. Snacks, drinks, a flashlight. Just the two of them. It was them against the world.
As they were walking they noticed the cliff. As they went up the cliff to check it out they looked at each other, hearing the rushing water they knew what they had to do. Not even bothering to strip off their clothes they grabbed each other hand and ran off the cliff.
The cold water filled their senses. All around them was ice cold water. As they broke the surface they were gasping for air. As they swam back to shore they new it was going to be a good night.
In the old 1984 mustang they sang their favorite songs. Neon lights lighting up the road they came across one that said, "drive in movies." They sit in the car and hold hands and smile a dorky smile.
They were finally free. Free, that's what they always wanted. The night was still rushing by. As the movie finished they left and drove around. Eventually they ended up lost. They pulled over stopped the car and just held hands for a minute.
"I love you..."
It was so rapid and so sudden they didn't know what happened but they kissed. It was like fire. Every touch was a spark. Freedom that's what it was. They continued driving.
No looking back now. We are who we are, we are free and we are wild. Good luck finding us. This night isn't over yet.
"Let's get lost babe."
"We already are."
As they drew toward another sign it read, "M O T E L" perfect. As they pulled in they knew it was where they would be for the night. Yet they didn't mind. As they got their keys and unlocked the door they felt at home.
It was tiny just a full size bed, bathroom, microwave and a dresser with a TV. They layed down and curled up. As they drifted off to sleep they knew it was meant to be. ALEXANDER AND KAITLYN.
