P.O.V. Taiyang
I sighed as I looked at Ruby she was about to leave with her friends. I'm not sure what exactly their plans are because I didn't take the time to ask. If she's anything like Summer I'm sure things will work out for her.
I then suddenly received a message on my scroll. The number was blocked and for almost anyone else the message may have been confusing. "It's time, tell her," Was on the scroll. I sighed hearing this and looked up at the figure that was about to walk away.
"Wait Ruby!" I said as I looked at her. When I said this Ruby turned to look at me and I sighed. "There's something I need to tell you, and no it can't wait," I said looking at her. Ruby seemed a little confused hearing but nodded as she walked towards me.
"What is it dad?" She asked as she stopped in front of me. I sighed hearing this and looked at her.
"Follow me inside this is going to take some explaining," I said looking at her. She once again seemed confused hearing this but walked inside the house. She then sat on one of the several chairs we had and looked at me concerned.
"Dad is something wrong?" She asked looking at me. I sighed hearing this knowing this was going to be a difficult task for her to comprehend.
"That's the first thing I want to talk to you about. Ruby I . . . I'm not your real father," I said looking at her. When I said this her eyes widened before returning to an almost normal state but was clear she was more than confused. "The second thing is Summer's not really dead," I said looking at her.
When I said this she stood up and looked at me. "What? Mom's alive!" She asked looking at me. I nodded hearing this and she looked at me. She seemed happy to hear this and then looked at me confused. She didn't seem hurt which was a good thing but I can only imagine how she must have felt. "Why are you telling me this now?" She asked looking at me.
Before I could say anything she once again continued to speak. "I mean, why now . . . after so much time has passed?" She asked looking at me. She wasn't hurt she just seemed confused. "Wait a minute," She said as she looked up at me. "Is this some kind of joke? Because if it is it's not funny," She said looking at me.
I shook my head hearing this and looked at her. "Think about it Ruby. When me and Summer were together did you ever see us kiss or even give each other nicknames?" I asked looking at her and she looked away as if she was thinking about it.
"Then when she left when I introduced you and Yang I always said this is my daughter Yang. I never once introduced you as my daughter," I said looking at her. When I said this she looked at me a little hurt but I think that's only because of how I worded what I said.
"Sorry, this must be a lot for you to take in. I'll wait, just any questions you have and I'll try to answer them for you," I said looking at her. She nodded hearing this and just sat in silence for a few moments. Seems like I was right about this being a lot for her to handle.
"What's my dad's name?" She asked looking at me.
"He's name is [Name]," I said looking at her.
"What's he like?" She asked looking at me.
"He's always been a caring person. I've seen him angry a few times but his reasons were always justified. Such as having his friends in danger, that time Qrow accidentally tried to kiss him when he was drunk, and of course anytime someone mentioned your mother's names. I haven't seen him since he left but I can only imagine he'd have the same reaction to someone saying your name," I said looking at her. She nodded hearing this and looked at me.
"Why are you telling me this now?" Ruby asked looking at me.
"They think it's time that you finally knew the truth. They want to meet you, and explain the situation in person," I said as I looked at the female in front of me. Ruby nodded hearing this and looked up at me.
"Um before I go there's just one more question I'd like to ask," She said looking at me. I looked at her and nodded.
"What is it?" I asked looking at her.
"How did mom and [Name] meet," She asked looking at me. I sighed hearing this slightly. It doesn't seem like she's ready to call [Name] her father yet. I guess I can't blame her there has to be some many mixed feeling about the situation. I know [Name] was expecting this but her was still hoping she'd at least give him a chance.
I sighed hearing this and looked at the young female in front of me. "I guess I have enough time to tell you how they met," I said as I looked at the female.
