I smiled as I saw Summer walking down the halls of Beacon and began to walk towards. She didn't seem to notice me at first but as I got closer her eyes locked with mine and she smiled as she began to walk towards me. "See I knew you'd do great. I never doubted for a moment that you would make it," I said as I looked at her with a smile causing her to nod.
"Thanks, I was a bit nervous but when I heard that I passed I was so excited," She said as we began walking down the halls together.
"Even more so when you found out you were the leader I bet," I said as I looked at her and she tensed up a bit. I of course noticed this and looked at her a bit concerned. "Something wrong?" I asked as I looked at her.
"Oh, it's nothing really I just . . ." She began but as she spoke her voice slowly drifted off a bit.
"Doubts?" I asked as I looked at her. There wasn't much else that could cause someone to be so anxious about being a team leader so of course, it was the one I went to first. She nodded hearing this and hummed a bit upon hearing it.
"I won't lie I knew there was a chance you would become the leader but you were a bit timid. So I wasn't sure if you were going to be chosen or not. But if the headmaster sees something inside of you then I'd like to think that there is something special about you that I just haven't see yet," I said as I looked at her.
"You really think so?" She asked as she once again turned to look at me.
"Yeah without a doubt, we're always a lot harder on ourselves than we are on others. I'm sure that in time you'll come to make an amazing leader," I said as I looked at her with a smile. As I did she returned my smile however, hers was noticeably smaller. "So what's your team like?" I asked as I looked at her.
"Oh well, my partner is Raven. She's nice, even if she doesn't show it that much. I think she's trying to close herself off to the rest of us that way she isn't too devastated if one of us . . . well you know," She said as she looked at me and I nodded. It's not exactly an uncommon tactic. But from what I've seen it just makes the team more likely to fail if that's the case because one person isn't able to work well with the others. After all, they don't know the rest of them well enough.
"Then there's her brother, he's kind of quiet but still nice. He doesn't get along with his partner too much though which could bad for us if they start arguing in the middle of a battle," Summer said as she looked at me. I nodded hearing this that could definitely be a problem but I would like to think that they're smart enough not to start arguing during a life and death situation. "And then there's Ty, he's a little too flirty for me but he's still a nice guy. When Raven threatened him because he was flirting with her a little too much he backed off pretty quickly but is still being pretty nice to her," Summer said as she looked at me.
"I see," I said as I looked at her. It really did sound like she had her hands full with the rest of her team. "Well, I'm sure you all work great together. Actually, if you don't mind, I'd like to sit in and watch how you and Raven do in a team match," I offered as I looked at her. When I said this Summer tensed up a bit as she looked at me.
"I don't know about that, but I can talk to her and see what she says," Summer said as she looked at me and nodded.
"Fair enough," I said as I looked at Summer. After all, it's not like I could force her to fight someone against her will.
TIMESKIP
I smiled as I looked at the two females in front of me slowly walk onto the stage in front of me. Summer said that Raven agreed but it took her a bit of convincing to do so. I watched as they and their opponents slowly walked into the small arena that we had for combat class. I smiled as I saw the four get ready each showing their weapons as they did. When the match began I watched at the four dashed towards each other.
I watched as Summer blocked an incoming attack and then raised her weapon high knocking the male off balance only for Raven to come in behind her and elbow the male in the face sending him back. As she did his partner tried to attack her from the side and Summer blocked that attack and Raven moved around and hit the male in the chin with the flat end of her sword knocking him away as well.
As I watched I felt my fear about Raven not working well with others slowly fade. Despite how she might have acted with her leader and partner it was clear the two made an excellent team together. Not much time had passed since they joined Beacon and they were already able to read each other so well striking with each other and defending each other with nearly perfect timing it really was a sight to behold.
The two of course won, and they all walked off the field before Summer began to walk over to me with her partner following closely behind her. "Is the guy?" Raven asked as she looked at me. I couldn't tell if she was glaring at me or not so I just assumed that she was.
"Yeah, this is him," Summer said with a smile as she turned to look at me. "So how'd we do?" Summer asked as she looked at me.
"You two did excellently. I would clap but that would probably attract some attention," I said as I looked at the two in front of me.
"May I ask why you wanted to see us fight?" Raven asked as she looked at me.
"I wanted to see how the two of you worked together. And needless to say, you two blew my expectations away. That truly is some of the best teamwork I've ever seen," I said as I looked at the two in front of me.
"Good," Raven said as she began to walk away. As she did I looked at her before sighing slightly and then turning my attention to Summer.
"Do you really think we worked well together?" Summer asked as she began to sit down beside me and I nodded.
"Yeah without a doubt," I said with a smile. "The way you two picked up perfectly on each being able to strike so perfectly. I was just watching the fight and even then some of your tactics weren't clear until it was already too late. I'm certain you two will make a great team, and with the other two . . . well, I'm sure your team will become legendary, a true force to be reckoned with," I said as I looked at Summer causing her to smile as she looked at me. Summer smiled hearing this and stood up.
"In that case, I'd like to introduce you to the other two members of the 'legendary' team STRQ She said as she offered her hand to me. I smiled hearing this and took her hand before I began to be dragged away from the area.
