I flicked my tongue across the unfamiliar, red liquid. A sweet sensation flooded my body and all my worries and bad memories disappeared instantly. This was better than any antidepressant. I looked down in the strange beverage and was shocked to see myself. Except the girl staring back at me wasn’t me at all.
My hair was no longer a sleek black, it was a fiery red. My eyes had transformed from blue to a dark green and my lips were no longer full and pink, they were blood red. But the two things that stood out the most was my forked tongue flicking out almost as if I was a snake sniffing out its prey, and my teeth. They were razor sharp... almost ready to sink their teeth into their next victim.
Klaus snatched the wine glass from my hands, chuckling lightly. His eyes hardened as he choked out a fake laugh. Something was wrong. I could sense it.
“Impressive isn’t it?” Klaus dipped his finger in the drink, stirring it around. I knew he was making the unexpected image I had just seen disappear.
“Very,” I murmured, watching my uncle pace back and forth slowly. His boots clicked as he walked up and down the short corridor. “What is it, if I may ask?”
Klaus stopped abruptly. He turned to me with a wicked grin plastered across his face and strode up to me quickly. “Tis a secret, my dear! But you shall soon know.”
“Poison..,” I managed to choke out before a ripping sound echoed throughout the air and my body dropped lifelessly to the ground. There was no doubt about what the dark creature had taken from me with one sip of his fatal wine.
My soul.
