The Impala rumbled down the black asphalt, windshield wipers furiously waving to clear the rain. We slowly pulled into the parking lot of an old abandoned warehouse. The paint had all chipped away and the windows were boarded up. "Is this it?" I asked quietly.

"No, it's over there, but we had to park far away," Sam pointed to a small shack in the distance and kept rummaging around in the trunk. He pulled out four huge knives, and handed one to me. Seeing my confused look, he began to explain how to kill a vampire.

"If you want to kill a vampire, you have to chop his head off," he instructed. "Hopefully you won't see any, because you're going to wait outside. You might though. Sunlight doesn't really hurt them so they do come out during the day."

I stared at the knife in my palms. I wasn't cut out for this. (I DIDNT REALIZE THE PUN)

Dean showed me where to wait. I would be hidden in the bushes, near the only entrance and exit of the building. If they weren't out in two hours, I would go in and find them. Until then, I had to be prepared to kill any lone vampires wandering around.

The three of them crept through the broken down wooden door, and I crouched beneath the thick row of bushes. Fear pulsed through me like a second heartbeat. I heard every creak and groan of the woods behind me like they were on speakers. I took a deep breath to calm myself.

About twenty minutes later, the door swung open and someone stepped out. It was a woman with brunette hair, who stood for a moment staring around the vicinity. Her nostrils flared and she looked at me. Boots scratching the dirt, she walked lesiurely over to me.

"Stand up. I can smell your rank human scent." She snapped at me with a harsh voice. I didn't stand, although I thought maybe I should.

When I didn't respond, she raced around the bush and grabbed the collar of my coat and yanked me up before I could even breathe. A peculiar smile crept across her face. She opened her mouth and a set of sharp fangs descended, covering her other teeth. She lunged at me, but I jumped to the side and ran a few yards off.

Hissing, she charged at me and I feinted to the right and hopped to the left. I raised my knife and swung at her neck, but missed as she turned around. She grabbed my arm tightly and didn't release when I punched her in the face. With a jerk, she tried to get to my neck again, but I twisted my head away as far as I could. Struggling with her iron grip, I punched her in the neck with my free hand and she finally let go.

As she stumbled, I took the chance. I lifted my knife high in the air and swung across as hard as I could, and hit this time.

I stared in horror at the head on the ground. I just killed something that used to be human. She talked like a human, and looked like one and moved like one. I suddenly remembered Dean saying, "They aren't human anymore. They cause danger to everyone else, and they will kill you if they can. They're monsters."

I rolled the body into a pile of leaves nearby as a temporary hiding place. Then I went back behind the bushes near the front door, shaking like a feather in a tornado.

No other vampires came out for a long time. I checked my clock over and over as two hours approached, slowly but surely. When it had been two hours, I stood up and double checked my equipment. One knife, a flask of holy water, salt, dead man's blood, one pistol. I had everything except my nerves as I went through the door to the vampire base.

There was a stairwell right in front of me that I began to descend. It smelled like rotten food and smoke. The air was cold and everything was a dark color. At the end of the stairs were two hallways. I went down the left one, holding up my knife, ready for any vampires I would run into.
