The darkness seems to have swallowed me whole. I though to myself. Even my thoughts seemed to echo, in the infinte and oddly spacious darkness I was now drowned in. The weight of judging gazes seemed to drown me. An edge of odd familliarity, and perhaps dejávu slowly settled within my chest, like a fresh snow that slipped in your clothes, and soddened your inner down layers. I slowly began to walk, at first aimlessly, and eventually towards a dim and muted light dimmer than some of the stars at night. With the growing presence of danger, forced my pace forward. I swear I felt things passing me, touching me. Something grabbed my wrist. Now the light had brightened to that of a fire kindled low, I saw a great mess of angular shadows, behind me. I twisted free from it claws, with it the full force of the situation slapping me across the face. I was sprinting towards the light, now filled with the terror of death upon me. The shadows had grabbed me once again, dragging me back, their relentless, chaotic, hunger looming around me. Rapidly consuming me. I twisted, and pulled and fought as I felt myself-
I felt my head slam into the corner of my desk, before I was facedown on the floor of my dorm. I swore under my breath and slowly crawled up to look at the mirror on my desk. I groaned as I saw the darkening bruise on the corner of my forehead. I dragged myself to my feet, and looked at my hand. It had been a few days since I had gotten the few small cuts, and an odd bruise, from the last time I had woken from a disturbing dream. I groaned. I shuffled through my new with the previous week's events flashing through my mind.
I had recently been transferred here, to Winter Rose Prepatory Academy from Winter Lilac Vocational Academy. My new dorm was in a moving hangover, and the new term was around the corner. I sighed. I looked at my timepiece. WAIT. It's . That means it's the first day of terms. For the love of the bloody angels I'm going to be late. I threw on my new uniform, grabbed my bag, and sprinted to the 4th floor.
As I dashed across the snowy courtyard I accidentally collided with another girl that also came sprinting from nowhere. We scrambled to our feet, blurted apologies and continuted running like crazy people. We flung open the door, and slipped into the seats nearest the door, and slowly caught our breaths.
A few moments after the teacher slowly strolled in.
"Hello students. Welcome to Winter Rose Prep Academy. My name is Mr. Lang. I hope you'll enjoy your time here. Before I begin I have a quick bit of rules I typically like to go over with students at the beginning of the term so bear with me and we'll get into the good stuff." He paused and looked over the room. "My attendance policy is a bit different from other teachers. I'll typically have a quick entrance activity posted on the side board here" he gestured at a narrow blue board next to the projector touch pad. "It's typically just a short review from the previous days work or lecture. It takes no more than 5 or so minutes, turn it in at my desk at the end of the lecture period for attendance. I won't have any entrance activities on exam days so don't worry. There is no assigned seating, and of course all work is optional. However I'd appreciate it if you keep disruptions at a minimum. If anything urgent comes up just put your entrance activity on my desk and leave." He paused. "Any questions?" The class nodded in agreement. "Alright then let's begin."
He seemed alright. I saw the girl I ran into keep glancing at me from 2 seats over.
