Unhappy Harry

Harry Potter was not a happy child. His parents were neglectful, instead favouring their eldest son, Thomas Potter, who was Harry's twin. Needless to say, Harry Potter was one unhappy boy.

Thomas Potter was Harry's older brother by twelve minutes. Currently the boy was 7 and already weighed three times as much as Harry, who was underweight and malnourished. Thomas Potter was a spoilt brat, who believed that he could hold his title as the Boy Who Lived above every living soul and get them to bend to his will. All he had to do was wail and mummy and daddy would attend to his every whim. Harry Potter, however, was starved in all respects. He was quiet, rarely speaking, and his parents often forgot he existed, resulting in the boy being under fed and often overworked.

Harry Potter, however, was not weak. Harry was smart, and he knew it. While his brother may be a bigger dunce than the Dursleys, Harry took to practicing spells in his attic bedroom. He would lift his mediocre lamp wordlessly, shifting it to wherever he needed it at the time. If he was cold he would transfigure his ragged sheet into a thick duvet, being sure to change it back whenever he heard steps heading up. He would transfigure his bed to one of luxury, sleeping well, and waking up well before he was supposed to in order to avoid the bed being given to Thomas instead. Whenever Harry made anything nicer, it was given to Thomas, so Harry was careful to keep his talents under wrap. However, Harry still had limits, as a seven year old can only wield enough magic to transfigure objects. Harry had an extensive array of talents for a seven year old. If listed, it would look something along the lines of:

Transfiguration
Gravity Control
Silencing spells
Summoning spells
Occlumency and Legilimency
Singing
Dancing
Rapping
Violin
Cello
Guitar
Drums
Piano
Cajon
Flute

Ukulele

Korean
Japanese
Chinese
Spanish
French
German
Icelandic (nearly)
Cooking

Makeup

Harry had learned all of his skills through books from the local library. He was often left in his attic room for over 8 hours a day, not counting the nights. Harry managed to keep himself occupied, even managing to transfigure himself a phone. He found a love for Kpop, and often learned the dances with a silencing spell around the room. He kept the phone hidden, as that was his little secret. Harry was a child genius, with an iq of over 160 by the time he turned seven. However, his parents refused to accept it, saying his teachers must be mistaking Harry for Thomas, as Harry rarely went to school. However, Harry knew he was a genius. He knew it, but he wasn't conceited.

For gods sake, the child was fluent in seven languages and was learning an eighth! He could play 10 instruments, could do GCSE grade maths without batting an eye, knew the meaning and spelling of the word floccinauccinahilipilification (no value, yes its a word) and could write stories that put a trained author to shame. Yet his parents displayed any work his teachers have them as Thomas's. Harry was thankful he never used any of his language skills in school, as he undoubtedly would have ended up ignored again.

Yes, Harry Potter was neglected, and he wanted to quit.
