You Won't Break Me

He laughed at me as I sat there, drenched in cold water. He found pleasure in my own misfortune. His other friends were gathering around him, girls and boys alike were laughing at my humiliated figure. He was cruel, he was unforgivable, he was the biggest bully in my life. He walked close to me and lifted my chin to face him. He leaned closed to my ear and whispered: "You gonna be my girl or what?"

He was the most handsome guy in school, that Ethan Bellamy. He is the most intelligent one with the highest grade, the most talented and the most athletic. The kind of guy girls would kill to go out with. I was one of those girls once before but it all changed when he decided to bully me. That small phrase that I heard him whisper made my blood boil.

Every morning I would find my desk being vandalize by him. I would sit down and everything would fall apart, the interloper, was of course, him. He would humiliate me in front of the whole class. When I would go home, I would find my PE shoes thrown in the garbage or soaked in vinegar. That smart jerk thinks he's all that. I swear that I am going kill him, I swear I will make him rue the day that he decided to think that it's funny to pick on the Geek Girl from around the corner.

He infuriated me and I won't give him the pleasure to humiliate me again. I gave him my most venomous glare, I can't take it anymore. I pulled out my hand and slapped his left cheek so painfully that the sound was loud enough to echo through the room. The laughing stopped, everyone flinched.

"Don't flatter yourself, jerk."

The girls glared back at me, "Just who do you think you are, to talk to Ethan like that?!"

I glared at her, the most venomous glare I've never thought I was capable of making. I stood up, all of them flinched back except for that girl upfront. Trying to put up a strong face I suppose. I walked closer to her, my glare made her feel more uncomfortable. A few milliseconds passed and I left, walking coolly away  from the crowd. I was later followed by Terra and Aiden, my two most closest friends.

I was tempted to look, to see the reaction of that blasted Ethan Bellamy, when I did, I didn't see him with a face filled with shock or humiliation. What I saw was a grin. That dark grin of a madman who found his very first victim. The grin of a predator who found its prey. Cold sweat ran through my back.

I told myself not to be scared. Fear was the enemy, the first one to break is the first one to lose. I'm not about to lose to this sadistic jerk.

Aiden looked at me with a worried look on his face. "You okay, Lilia?" I looked at him then at Terra "Don't worry, I'm fine..."

For now, that is.
