Born Again

Chapter 6

As I walked into the large hallway, the cold marble chilling my feet, I could hear the maids talking and the clicking of their heels. I continued walking out of the castle and into the lush gardens filled with exotic plants and flowers looking for Michael his scent was hard to find with all thd sweet smelling flowers but I found him sitting beneath a giant cherry tree. I tip toed quietly towards him, as I got closer I saw him plucking the fallen petals from the grass and placing them in his hand. I sat down beside him and he looked over,"what are you doing here" he asked turning his attention back to the petals "I came looking for you, you kind of ran off as soon as you woke up and saw me in your arms" I started picking up the petals too,Micheal sighed and turned towards me.

"listen the only reason I did that was because I am just your guardian and I'm not allowed to develop feelings for you" he averted his eyes but I could tell that he was lying.

I touched his check making him look me in the eyes, "you're not allowed or you won't have feelings for me because I can tell that you're lying to me so what is it"? he sighed deeply and and removed my hand from his face and spoke. "I can have feelings for you all of your guardians can the thing is I don't want to have feelings for you..." I was speechless I didn't know what to say to him when he said that he looked so hurt but I couldn't ask him about because Lacey called me  and I turned my head around but when I turned it back to Micheal he was gone, now it was my turn to sigh I got up and walked back into the palace with Lacey.

As I watched her walk away I couldn't help but want to keep talking to her but Why did she want to know more about me no queen has ever wanted to know more about me except for Melissa, either way I should keep my distance I don't want to be hurt again.
