6-ish years later
\-------------------/6 year later, now 24 years old, Louis is a Canadian citizen and a teacher at a high school in Toronto.
His youngest sisters Phoebe and Daisy -the twins-, and also Felicity live at home with his mum. Since Louis is old enough, and he has a job, and he lives in a house of his own.. mostly. Lottie had started sleeping over at Louis' so much, at some point, she just kinda of... moved in. Louis didn't mind, it's always nice to have company.
His mom was right, he did get something good out of moving to Canada. True, he hasn't spoken to Lucas since me moved, or had a proper relationship with someone that lasted more than 4 months... but Louis has a beautiful house with a lake right behind it.
What more does he need?
-----
A shout of his name is the first thing he heard when Louis and Lottie walked into their mom's house. Even though these 2 moved out, they still come over -sometimes, more often than not- for dinner, and just to hang out.
"Louis!" Phoebe yelled, running up to Louis. "I want to learn how to skate! It's going to be winter soon and I'm not going another year without skating with my friends!"
"Ok?" Louis chuckled, walking into the kitchen to greet his mum, leaving a kiss on her cheek. "Why are you telling me this?"
"Because mum wants to know what you think about it." Phoebe whined pouting at Louis and their mum. "We've been here for years! Everyone i know can skate, and I can't!"
"Phoebs, they're Canadians, we're brits!" Louis snickered, ruffling Phoebes hair before walking out f the kitchen, heading into the living room to find Daisy, Fizzy and Lottie.
"I wouldn't mind learning to skate either." Daisy points out, using that smile that always gets her what she wants. He rolls his eyes at her.
"And what about you two?"Johanna chuckles when she comes up behind Louis, looking at Fizzy and Lottie. The girls just shake their heads, having no interest in learning to glide on ice with shoes that have blades on the bottom. Louis never understood hockey, or skating... or how people got good at it.
"Well, I can't skate, so if you two want to skate, you'll need lessons, and that's up to mum. Not me." Louis points out, falling back onto the couch between Fizzy and Daisy with a relaxed sigh. The twins looked at their mum, wide pleading eyes.
"Fine I guess, I'll look into it. But it'll be a few months, because i assure you there won't be any skating lessons in the last week of august." Daisy and Phoebe cheered at the news. It was obvious who was more excited though -Phoebe- but you could see both of the girls couldn't wait.
"Louis-" his mum turned to him "-would you be ok with driving the girls to their lessons if I can't?"
"Sure." Louis shrugged, because why would he say no? What's the harm with it anyway. He'd just be driving his two youngest sisters to some stadium or whatever and picking them up. What could possibly happen?
---
It was now September, and Louis sat in his empty classroom on the first day of school, waiting for students to arrive. As he waits, he thinks back to the day he got this job.
-flahback-
"Well, Mr. Tomlinson-" The man said, folding his hands on his desk as he looked at Louis with an intimidating gaze before peering back down to Louis' folder, "-I normally don't hire people as young as you. You're just out of university, but you're very qualified... over qualified if I'm being honest."
"Thank you." Louis chuckled softly, crossing his feet at his ankles.
"The position is open, and we need to fill it... We're going to have to talk more about this, fill some papers, make it official, but... you're hired! You have the drama teacher job!" The man smiled, making Louis want to jump up and scream.
Usually to become a teacher, you're a substitute first, or you're just a term teacher, but Louis saw the opportunity, and he took it. Things like this never happen! It's also things like this that make Louis miss his life back in Doncaster less and less.
-flashback over-
The door to his class opened, making Louis sit up straighter then before. Soon his class was full with students that looked tired and some even miserable. The sight made Louis want to laugh, for he knows he looked just like them in almost all of his high school classes too.
After some quick introductions -that he knew he would have to go through for the rest of the day- Louis asked if anyone had any questions. A hand rose from the back of the class. Louis nodded at the student, giving them permission to speak.
"Um is this is Drama class, why are we in a normal classroom?" The student asked, making Louis chuckled. The kid does have a point.
"Good question. As you guys probably know, this school has an auditorium. We will be using that, but not right away. Drama is oddly one of the full year round courses, so we can take our time. We will definitely be doing most of our work in there, starting sometime next month." Louis smiled at the satisfied look on the students face at his answer. Truth be told, Louis' very excited to get to work in the auditorium. "Oh yes, some of the curriculum has changed too. I'll be teaching you about some things that were previously taught in English langue arts."
Another few hands rose, so Louis picked on the first one he saw. "Yes?"
"Where are you from, you have a really nice accent and how old are you? You look really young." Some girl said, looking very interested in his answer. Louis has to hold back a laugh at her comment about his accent. It's still as strong as it was when he was 17, he's worked to keep it, wanting to sound like a Brit. His mum still had her accent, as well as Lottie and Fizzy. Phoebe and Daisy's accents aren't as strong as what they used to be, but it's definitely still noticeable.
"Thank you! I'm from Doncaster, a small place in England. I moved here with my family when i was 17, but now I'm 24. Just out of Uni." Louis smiled kindly before adding, "But truth be told, you lot are the ones that all have accents to me."
That caused the class to laugh lightly, making Louis feel smug. After the laughter died down, Louis picked another hand. This went on for a while, getting to know this class, before the block was over and he repeated it all over with his other classes until the day was done.
Now, Louis isn't one to toot his own horn -that's a lie, he totally is-, but judging by just today, he can tell that his students are going to enjoy his class the most. Just like always, his life is smooth sailing, what could possibly come along and change any of that?
