He couldn't believe he was doing this.
It all started out earlier that morning when the sun was just coming over the horizon and the air was fresh with the scent of rain. The black haired male had glanced out the window lazily as he was making breakfast, flipping a pancake over in the cast iron skillet he'd been using. He yawned once, stretching out his back and hearing a rather large pop noise followed by a long sigh. He must've slept on the wrong side of the bed again.
He sighed irritably, rubbing his side as if h was wishing for the pain to go away. He was an angel after all. Shouldn't he at least be gifted with healing powers? However, that didn't seem to be the case because even as he'd rubbed his hand over it, the pain continued. He could only blame it at one person at this point. Well- demon rather. Hyde.
Ever since they'd started dating, Hyde had become rather clingy. Which mean't less room on the bed for Licht. He'd move over on the sheets only to be followed by the vampire moments later. It was like he was glued to his damn side! Even whenever he'd gotten hot, he'd tried to physically push Hyde away from him, but to no avail. The vampire was just too intent on hugging him in his sleep.
Licht had been so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn't noticed the browning pancake beneath him. A white smoke rose into the air and he sniffed, looking confused at first as he cluelessly glanced out the window. Oh. He looked down and quickly flipped over the pancake in a panic, his hand rubbing across the hot skillet and causing him to hiss in pain, drawing his hand back up and holding it closely to his chest. "Ow.. damn it," he mumbled under his breath before removing the pancake from the skillet and neatly placing it on a plate.
"Ohh? Having some trouble there Angel-chan?" A familiar voice sounded from behind him, which made Licht tense in the shoulders and only further get his teeth.
"No. Shut up and die, shit rat," He growled out defensively, still holding his hand close to his chest as if he was trying to protect it somehow.
The other male simply looked amused, stepping forward with a little smile on his face. He looked down at the hand and raised an eyebrow up at Licht, which only made him narrow his eyes further. "Don't touch it. I'm fine." He stated bluntly, slapping Lawless' reaching hand away.
The vampire only sighed, closing his eyes and tipping his head. "Whatever you say. Oh!" His attention was drawn to the pancakes and he looked over at them with pleased red eyes.
"Aww~ Did you make some pancakes for me, Lichtan?"
"No. Those are all mine."
Lawless fake gasped, looking offended as he walked over to the plate anyways, grabbing some of his own and getting some strawberries out of the fridge on the way. He tsked, grabbing a fork from the cabinet as he spoke. "So cruel, my little angel." He laughed a little and went to go sit at the wooden kitchen table.
Licht sat down at the table with his own plate of pancakes, looking displeased as he stared at him with intense blue eyes. "I didn't get any sleep because of you, you know." He scoffed, taking a large bite from his stack of pancakes, looking down at his food. So far this was the only thing going good this morning.
Lawless hummed, tipping his head as he smiled at him with his usual calm expression, "Hm? And why is that? Aww~ Were you busy thinking of me all night? I'm honored Angel-Chan!"
The black haired male's gaze darted up at him, "What? No! You kept clinging to me all night you rotten hedgehog! I need my beauty rest." He stated in the most serious voice ever as if his words should be taken for gospel.
Hyde simply laughed from the other side of the table, putting a hand over his mouth. "Ahh, I'm sorry my angel. I didn't even realize I was doing that. You know- being a heavy sleeper and all~" He hummed out innocently as if a halo should be hanging over his head instead of Licht's.
"You don't even need sleep, you demon! You can't possibly be a heavy sleeper!" He shouted out at him in return, his fork slamming down onto the table as he spoke, practically fuming out the ears.
"Woah there, Angel-cakes," he grinned in response, not seeming at all affected by the death glare that Licht was currently giving him. The vampire looked up in thought, his red eyes glancing over the ceiling before he suddenly got an idea, smiling widely as his eyes lit up. "How about I make it up to you?"
He glanced up from his food, playing with the pancakes as his fork poked at them periodically. "How?" He narrowed his eyes, suspicious of his motives. When Lawless said he'd 'make something up' to him, it usually meant that he was trying to fulfill his own motives. Truly Greed.
"A date!" Hyde stated loudly, his hands going into fists at his sides as he seemed passionate about it. He already had an idea in his mind! It was sure to make Licht-chan forgive him!
"A date? We always go on dates. How is this any different?" He scoffed, not looking amused in the slightest as he glanced up from his food. Lawless always used dates as a solution, so somehow he was no longer surprised when he mentioned them.
"Because," he paused for dramatic affect as if he was about to present the best idea ever. "We can go lazer tagging!" He announced loudly, his hands going up as he spoke.
Licht look at him with wide unblinking blue eyes, not understanding what was so significant about this idea. Lazer tagging? What the hell was that? It sounded dangerous, which only lit Lichts fuse, making him growl out frustratedly. "Lazer tagging? That sounds dangerous, shit rat! You must think I'm crazy if I'd walk into a situation like that with you."
Hyde started to laugh from across the table, quickly shaking his hands in front of him to prove his point. "No, no! That's not what it is. There are no real lazers, my naive angel. It's just light! Ya know- like your name!" He grinned at him, leaning forward at the table and taking his hands in his own. "Please, please, please! It'll be fun. Let me make it up to you my angel!"
"No."
"Ahh! Licht-chan you're always so cruel!" He pouted, still holding his two hands in his own as he started to try and think how he could convince him. The vampire slowly leaned down and kissed his hand, looking up at him with pleading, yet eager bright red eyes. "Please my little angel. For me~?" He insisted in a low voice, making Licht just stare.
The black haired male kept eye contact with him for a very long time, his eyes narrowing as his face slowly flushed in thought. He growled out, snatching his hand away from Hyde's. "Fine. Whatever." He stated bluntly, looking away from him as Hyde stood up quickly, obviously pleased.
He ran over to Licht's side and picked up his plate, kissing him once on the cheek before spinning around to get put the dishes in the sink. "I won't let you down!" He called out suddenly, making Licht look in his direction in disbelief. He'd left so quickly! He barley gave him time to talk!
Why did he agree to this?
