Seakit glanced at her pads as she sat in the sloppy bracken nest she had made. Cracked and bleeding. Snatch had made herself a cozy feather lined moss nest. She had not offered to help Seakit, so the young she-cat had to make her own. Seakit's mouth was dry. Water. She glanced at Snatch. She's asleep. Seakit thought of running away, but she pushed the thought away. I'll die on my own, and I don't know where I am. But Seakit knew where a pond was. She shakily rose to her paws on her weak legs. She slowly stalked away to find the small pond that was close by. Careful not to step on any twigs, Seakit crept away. Seakit was taking too long to find water. Where is it? Seakit knew there was a pond around the forest, she had seen it. It was getting darker by the second. Snatch could wake up any second, too! Suddenly, she came to a small pond. She gasped in reilef. There! She padded closer to the pond and croutched at the edge. She lapped up loads of water, relishing the refreshness. Seakit rose to her paws and sighed, her thirst quenched. Seakit began to track her steps beck to the make-shift nests were. When Seakit arrived to the nests, Snatch was pacing through the undergrowth, muttering to herself. Seakit stepped on a leaf, and it crinkled under her paw. Snatch whipped her head around. "There you are!" She growled. Snatch started towards Seakit, anger lit in her eyes like a flame. Seakit shrunk to the ground. "Please don't kill me..." Seakit whispered. When Snatch approached Seakit, she grabbed her by the tail and swung her in the air. Searing pain bolted through her tail. Seakit flew through the air, blood roared in her ears. She landed on something big, hard, and pointy. A boulder. Seakit guessed. Pain jolted her brain. "Get up, you mole!" Snatch snapped. Seakit began to get up, but her muscles seemed to disagree. She couldn't move. Panic awoke in Seakit's belly. "I said, get up!" Snatch snarled. Seakit felt a big paw be placed on her chest. It rolled her off of the boulder. This was not worth getting water. Seakit's body thunked on the grass. She lay in the long grass, her body stuck in a weird position. Snatch came into view, and looked into the kit's eyes. Snatch's eyes were troubled. "She's dead." The black she-cat spun around and paced in the grass. Seakit opened her jaws. "I'm not dead!" The words didn't escape from her mouth. Snatch kept pacing. "The Great Mouth is going to eat me now!" Seakit was confused. What does she mean? Snatch looked at Seakit again, but determinedly. "Maybe your not dead..." Her voice trailed off as she bolted to Seakit's deformed body. "I'm still taking you to the Great Mouth!" She mumbled. "If you are dead, then I'll just feed you to the Great Mouth." Seakit wanted to scream her heart out that she wasn't dead, but she couldn't talk. Why can't I talk? Snatch carried her and carried her on and on. Seakit still wasn't able to do anything. Is this the end for me?
