We finally pulled up in the zoo's parking lot, and I eagerly hopped out and ran around to her side and opened her door for her and helped her out, after I locked up the car, I wrapped my arm around her and patiently waited for her to put her arm around my waist so we could walk thru the entrance together as the happy couple we were going to be for the day. As the lady at the main entrance asked what kind of tickets we wanted I looked at all the choices, but Kc quickly said we wanted the all-day bracelets, as she pulled out her wallet to pay for them, I tried to tell her it was on me, but she said this was her idea, and she wanted to take me someplace, and that I could take care of the next fun thing we did together. I knew by her tone there was no use in arguing the point with her so I let her buy our way in, under a slight protest. Because I didn't like it when she did for me, I loved doing for her and it was irritating me knowing that I didn't get to.
I didn't expect it to be such a large zoo and fun park all wrapped up in one huge animal entertainment facility, but it was. It had gift shops, food stops, several different places where you could buy animal food to feed the critters, then it had huge lakes and ponds where you could feed the fish, and do a little catch and release fishing. Then there was the huge walk around nature/scenic trail where you could intermingle with some of the animals and take pictures. It was a very beautiful place that had over 100 different species of animals to look at. But Kc and I had so much fun taking selfie pictures together, and of each other doing cute and silly things along the trails. After we went thru the entire trail, we headed for the animal museums, then to one of my favorite places, the Reptile/Amphibian house where we got to handle a few of the boas and pythons as the handler told us about them and showed us one of the snakes with the rare genetic disorder with their color patterns. Kc and I even got to ride on a camel, elephant, and on a huge tortoise of all things, but it was all fun with her.
We both got a little hungry during our day of fun, so before we went to the Zoo's fun park where they had some rides to go on, we grabbed a couple hotdogs and a Cherry Cola to split. Then we both raced each other while holding on to each other's hand as we made a beeline to the small roller coaster they had, after our coaster ride was done, we went on the Ferris wheel and a few other of their slower rides, but we both decided before we called it an evening that we were so going to hit the roller coaster a few more times. We ended up going on the coaster 8 times before we left the amusement park at the zoo. We were now heading back toward the entrance of the zoo where we started out when I told her there was no way we could actually leave until after we checked out the gift shop because I wanted to get her something to remember our trip by. But as we went in I noticed there was actually a pet shop straight down from the gift shop, and said I really needed to go in there and see what kind of critters they had, that were purchasable.
The Gift shop ended up being a bust, because all the items in there were ridiculously high in price and very cheap in how they were made, so all I ended up buying her was a stuffed Gorilla because it was one of her favorite animals that we saw today, and the stuffed toy was a replica of the exact gorilla we watched paint a picture for us, and his name was Kerchek. Once we got to the pet shop, however, things got really exciting, because they had many different critters that people could actually purchase and take home with them. They had Whooly Monkey's, Spider Monkey's, Ring-tailed Lemurs, young pythons and boas, exotic parrots/macaws and other types of birds, then they had turtles and many different types of fish. But when I saw they actually had a place to where you could purchase a wolf pup, or even a cougar, panther, or Caracal cat and all a person had to do was buy a $50.00 dollar wildlife license there in the store, I was totally blown away and kinda wanting to get one.
I was wanting one of the panther babies they had, and Kc was really eyeballing the young monkey's they had, which I had to admit they were pretty damned cute. But then we both thought about what would happen if we got one, with our three cats back at the house, so we just settled with playing with them for a while instead. It was now coming to be 7:30 in the evening and we both were beginning to feel out stomachs telling us it was dinner time, so we left the zoo/amusement park and drove around looking for the perfect place to dine together. We ended up choosing an exotic Chinese restaurant called the Imperial Gardens. I went ahead and ordered two buffets that way we could stay as long as we wanted so we could talk while we ate and spend even more quality time with each other.
That was until Kc came out and said she knew why I was keeping her away from the house for so long, and that it was a sweet and loving gesture, but she really didn't need a birthday party. I looked at her as I slowly put my glass of wine back on the table and asked her how long she knew about my little plan. Kc smiled at me and said her brother Sam and Kim accidentally talked a little to loudly last week and she overheard it. I gave a little sigh and asked her if she could at least act surprised for it because everyone worked very hard to make it a perfect surprise party for her. Kc gave me a big smile and said she would definitely be surprised because she has never had a party before.
