Chapter Three
Avierra's POV
**
I continued to smile like an idiot as Ellen started to tear up. “On a great note, why don’t we take a break. Don’t move,” she said, pointing to the camera.
When the ‘On air’ sign was no longer lit up, I leaned in to hug Niall. “Thank you so much,” I whispered in his ear.
He pulled away and studied me once more. “Give me your phone,” he instructed. “Huh?” I asked stupidly.
“Give. Me. Your. Phone,” he instructed again. Without speaking, I pulled my iPhone and handed it to him. Quickly, he punched something in and handed it back to me. “There,” he said, sighing happily. “Now, you can text me US phone and my regular phone. You can text me whenever,” he said. I looked at him intently.
“Thanks,” I said, looking at my phone. I shoved it back in my pocket and turned back to where Ellen was sitting. The camera guy signaled to us that we were back on, and I beamed.
Ellen started talking to the audience and kind of to the camera about cancer and chemo-therapy. I blanked out and stared into space. Niall leaned in and whispered to me, “Are you okay?” I nodded in response.
Just then, I realized Ellen and everyone else in the audience was staring at us. “Were you to just flirting?” She asked, nudging me. I could feel my cheeks heating up. “Oh, no. No, no,” Niall said in his thick Irish accent. That’s when I decided that I’d play a game with him.
“Oh, don’t deny it, Niall,” I said, suppressing a laugh. “What?” He asked looking flustered. “You can admit it,” I said, now laughing. He chimed in with the laugh, realizing what I was doing. “Oh, yes. Yes, we were flirting. We’re going to elope together, Ellen,” he said.
Ellen smiled at our banter. “Name the first baby after me,” she said. She winked. “Will do,” I said, winking back. At that moment, Niall leaned over and kissed my cheek. I blushed furiously. The Niall Horan just kissed my cheek. What a day!
