Staring into an endless abyss of blue light...

Waiting for the one thing I've wanted for...how long now?

I finally look away to the small digital numbers in the corner of the bright screen.

It takes me another 10 minutes to actually comprehend what the time was.

1:....

1:....4

...:47

Wait....1:50 in the morning!?

I sigh, "Oh well", I say to myself. I jump as the small whisper booms in the tunnel. Shoot! I think to myself. I can't even breath too loud if it means I'll get caught.

C'mon! Almost there!

Suddenly a small ping from the device echoes loudly throughout the dark tunnel. Sshhhhh! I think as I draw a finger to my lip.

Finally! I held my breath for a moment to make sure the sound didn't cause anyone to sound the alarm.

As soon as I thought it was safe, I jumped up as lightly as I could and started running. I was sitting so long that my toes were numb. They started tingling when I was about half-way to the exit. Suddenly, a pain shot through my legs that made me trip. The wind knocked out of me as I hit the ground.

Then, there were sirens. Ear-piercing, blood curdling, sirens.

No, no, no no no nonononono NO! I fumbled as I tried to get up. The computer I was holding appeared to be ok in this dark lighting, but I knew that it wasn't ok. None of this was ok. I had to get out of here!

I started running again. I heard dogs barking at the other end if the tunnel. My ears felt like exploding from all the noise. I was almost there, almost free......just.....one.....more.....second.....BOOM! A huge drowning light was shining in my face. "HALT" said a booming electrical voice. I shoved my laptop into my oversised trench coat and instinctively put my hands up. "All right, all right, you've caught me" I say loudly.

"STATE YOUR NAME AND CODE NUMBER" the voice boomed as I was catching my breath. I dropped my hands and paused to breathe a little longer.

Then, I took a deep breath.
