I slip on my converse and my beanie as I put in the code to get out of my room, I walk down the long glass hallway and right into a bustling headquarters. Agents are running around everywhere, I stop, letting a women pass and look up at the glass ceiling. The sky above is clear and the sun is coming up to the right of me.

I make my way through the busy lobby and walk out as the sun hits me, the concrete stretches on for miles, a small helicopter had landed to right with the shield logo on the side. It's like the helicopter I piloted over Russia and dropped off agents to invade a enemy village, it is a simple machine compared to the newest model airplane I was privileged at the beginning of the month to drive. Flying is something that comes easy to me, I feel like I have always known how to pilot any aircraft, fury told me I was one of the best pilots in shield, being an agent in general comes naturally to me it's what I was born to do. Agents walk back and forth from the helicopter, jeeps and cars with the signature eagle shield logo on the side, a limo is to my left, Director fury gets out he is always coming and going through the newyork headquarters, but lately more than often, it makes me wonder what's going on but it's nothing more than a thought, trust the system.

A black sleek car with shield logo on the side pulls up, "Going into town agent?" Agent Manning asks. i look around, then nod at him, he motions for me to get in so I open the door and plop down into the seat,"did you complete combat training this morning?" he asks speeding off across the parking "and then some," I answer him, "Yeah I don't know why I asked."he says laughing, most agents go to a school specifically for shield, but I'm already a certified agent, the kids at school are 17 18 and still have a little ways to go In their shield career. I know they have allowed me to skip the college and the whole training and things because I have been taught by the very best since I was young so there was no need. I have already been on many missions, I got in and I got it done and I came straight back to this compound, I wake up train, eat, train, sleep and repeat. I like to pretend that growing up without any parent figure or really anyone hasn't changed me but I know it has,one part of me mourns to be the fun loving outgoing prankster but that just isn't me, I'm pretty kept to, straight forward, and get the job done. Besides I have had to grow up pretty fast and I had to skip that stage of my life. We eventually get to the bridge connecting the little shield island to the mainland and I tell manning he can let me out here I can walk, "try not to kick to many asses Hayes,"he says before pulling off.

After I walk across the bridge into the city limits, I hear the hustle and bustle of New Yorkers, I love the city more then anything else. So many different people with different stories and different struggles. I feel less alone here amongst the tall building and flashing lights. I make my way to lafeyette street, where the older looking buildings line the sidewalk. The cold air blasts into my lungs with each breath I take, I look around at all the different faces, some smile back at me others just look away.

As I walk down the street and take in all the different smells and sounds all my problems melt away. You see when I was first born until I was 6 years old I lived with my 'parents'. David and Victoria Hayes, they were your regular wonderful magazine parents. David worked at a law firm so we had money and I always got everything I asked for, he was the dad that read me fairy tales until I fell asleep and calmed me down when I was upset, Victoria was a teacher, she was you're perfect mother, the kind that drove you to gymnastic recitals in the mini van and always made snacks for soccer games. They were wonderful and they loved eachother so much, I never had any suspicion that I didn't really belong to them, I looked a little like Victoria. When I was 6 some men took me away from my home and dropped me off with Maria hill at a secret New York base. I was so terrified and didn't know what to do, I spent my first few years asking question after question and falling short from absolutely nothing. I cried myself to sleep every night until I was 12. Eventually I learned the phrase 'trust the system' so I did. I learned my parents weren't actually my parents just some foster family that worked with shield, one of my real parents had something to do with shield and I was extremely valuable so they needed me there training. And that's exactly what I did, I shut my mouth and I worked hard. You could say it's paid off but I still have no one. I stopped wondering who my parents are, they obviously don't want me now, I'm 17 for crying out loud, they haven't came in 17 years so they never will. I'm fine with that, I wouldn't want to meet them anyway.

As I walk with my hands in my pockets my cellphone rings, I fumble around for it and eventually find it. It's protocol to train in my free time, but you could say I'm advanced and I love leaving that secluded place and going into the city, so I do anyway, very frequently lately so I have been waiting on my call, "Agent Aria Hayes" I say, "Hayes you need to get back to base as soon as possible" Victoria hand said on the other end, she usually doesn't directly have contact with me so I was a bit suprised. I dont think she agrees with me growing up on base, so it must be important. "On my way" I say and hang up the phone as I call for a taxi
