A fond smile crept onto jungkook's face as he briskly strutted on the dimly lit street, admiring how the dark night complimented the honey-suckles that encased the pathway that he mindlessly meandered on. He brought the bouquet of flowers up to his face, inhaling the sweet scent of the red roses that he had brought for his friend. It was his dance recital today and the younger know how it would mean to the world if he'd be there. He decided that a surprise visit would be more than enough to bring a great amount of joy to him.
Turning the corner, he quickened his pace as his eyes traced over the familiar gates of the hotel that had hosted many of the performances that had never failed to impress him.
Instinctively, he reached for the door before freezing in his tracks.
What was that noise? He cocked his head sideways and listened closely. His heart dropped.
Police sirens.
What in the world could have happened? He turned around and jogged to the source of the sound. An array of red and blue lights greeted him at the scene as he erratically looked around the sea of reporters for a familiar face. He stopped in his tracks.
No. It can't be...
The bouquet of roses slipped from his clutches as they cascaded onto the asphalt beneath him. His obsidian eyes fixed on a body that was being carried away on a stretcher.
His body crumpled to the ground, face ridden with shock
"NO! No.. please God no" he breathed out.
Hopelessly choking out a sob as he gripped a fistful of his shirt almost as if he were in agony. "He'll be okay, h-he's strong" he whispered to himself, secretly knowing that the words he spoke were only hollow lies to make him feel better and that it was merely a fact that his friend was not lying on a hospital stretcher, but on a deathbed.
