adapt - chapter one
"Trust me, I'd rather not be here, but my mom doesn't want to have to deal with me either. I'm not exactly the most graceful person in the world." I explained to the stranger, smiling slightly.
"In other words your a clumsy mess?" He smirked.
"I mean I was trying to sugarcoat it, but sure. I know what my uncle asked you to do, and I'm just telling you right now you don't have to do it. I am perfectly capable of staying out of trouble myself."
"Oh no, you don't get off that easily." He gave me that goofy little grin. "You see, Emerson, I was given specific orders to make sure you don't get yourself or anyone else hurt. In other words, your stuck with me. For the whole summer." He finished off, feigning an evil voice.
I raised my eyebrows.
"And trust me, Em, your in for a long ride."
