"I'll just take a Miller Lite." a deep, enchanting voice said to me across the counter. So capturing, it pulls me out of my trance. I quickly reach behind me to grab a cup, I then head over to the tap and flip the switch for the one that has "Miller Lite" written on the barrel. When I look up to the man who ordered the beer, my breathing quickly comes to a halt, and my heart starts to fly out of my chest.
He has gorgeous tan skin and light brown hair. His deep, dark, enticing eyes swallow me whole. They peer right into me and leave my body numb. Even the way his light blue shirt fits snug at his abdomen, to reveal his toned body, make my heart flutter.
What am I even thinking. What the hell. I don't even know this boys name and to think I was just secretly falling for him. Damn. I hand over the beer and he hands me back a five dollar bill, instructing me to keep the change. He then delivers me a quick wink and as my eyes grow large, he smirks.
"So, gorgeous, what's your name?" Oh god, please, no flirting. I take a second to make sure my lips don't fumble and suck in a rough breath.
"Daniela.. I mean.. um... Dani." His capturing smile takes my body back into a trance. His white teeth, sit perfectly aligned in his mouth and I find myself wishing I could see that smile all the time. What are my thoughts even saying?
"Yeah, I know already. I saw your tag." I blush and look down at the name tag sitting amongst my breast. "I just wanted to hear if your voice was as sweet as my head imagined." His voice cuts through my thoughts and I find myself, shying away.
"Oh. Thanks." I let out a breath and he smiles, again. I smile back and some of the shyness wears of as I try to ease into this conversation I am having, with this ever so stunning man.
"So then, Mr. Flirt, what's your name?" I ask smiling over the counter as he takes a drink from the glass I handed him minutes previous. He smiles as he downs his beer, and slides the glass back over to me, indicating that I refill it.
"Clancy," he replies blankly. I try so hard not to laugh, but a small bubble escapes from my lungs. He looks down and blushes, and I stop myself after I realize that I might've hurt his feelings. I refill his cup and he hands me another five, letting me keep that change.
"Clancy?" I basically squeal. "Sounds like more of a girls name. I thought your name would at least be like Kyle or Michael or Travis." he laughs and asks me if those are the names of my exes, and I explain that I've only had one boyfriend and his name was in fact Jake.
"But really? Clancy? Come on. Your name most definitely does not fit your features," and I gesture at the man sitting, awe eyed, in front of me.
"No I was just messing with you, my name is Jay or whatever you want to call me." I smile at his name. "And what's this I heard about my features?" I blush and go attend some other people whilst Clancy or Lucas or Jay or whatever stares at me.
"Well, I like your face, and well yeah. I like your hair too. You have cool tattoos I guess." I say noticing black ink traveling up and down his arms. Jay grins at me whilst I blush and look at my ridiculous self in these work clothes.
"I like your face too," he says too soften the awkwardness I've somehow managed to created. "Your hair is actually pretty killer," he continues on, and I can't help but smile. I serve him one more drink, now in silence.
"Well my shift is about to end," I tell him, so he knows he won't have my company for long. What he says next startles me, more than anything.
"Would you, like to go out sometime?" He sincerely asks me. I stop to think about a date with the handsome man in front of me. I smile and think about it some more before agreeing to his offer. His smile lights up and I see a gleam in his eye that I failed to notice before. Unless, it wasn't.
I pull of my apron thing and my set my name tag in the bag office along with the others. I clock out from my shift and walk back out to the main room. Jay is still sitting at the bar, and a slight ring of red lines his water line.
"Would you like me to take you home?" I ask the partially drunken man. He nods and stumbles off of the barstool. I laugh at his lack of awareness and when I exit the bar I head straight to my car, Jay following behind. I unlock it as soon as I'm within a 5 foot radius and jump in whilst Jay comes along. He opens the door and throws himself inside.
