You know how in horror movies, there's always this girl going for a walk in the woods at midnight? Always so stupid. That girl is walking into a trap, and a part of her Is hoping to see the danger.

Or maybe she had no idea it was a trap. Maybe she saw a lost puppy run into the woods, and she went to go help him. Little did she realize that there could be a serial killer hiding away in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to kill the sweet, caring girl. It's all just not fair.

My name is Charlotte. I've heard a lot about Toby Rogers. That he was a freak, Stupid, and that he shouldn't even be alive. I just avoided the topic in general. I didn't want to be as cold and harsh as them, but I also didn't want to defend him. I didn't want to become involved, and be bullied just like he is. Maybe I'm a bit too selfish to ever care about someone else. I'm sure Toby isn't that bad, but there was no way I was going to talk to him. Whenever I spot Toby in the hall, people are always harassing him. Twitching their necks dramatically, to mock Toby's Turret Syndrome. Because of this, people called him Ticci-Toby.

He has his sister to look after him. She isn't the most popular girl but she's average. Lyra is very beautiful so people take her seriously. Other girls are envious of her blonde hair, and perfectly symmetrical face. But her beauty didn't stop the torture of her brother. Toby was her complete opposite. He wasn't ugly, he was just different. He had messy brown hair, dark brown eyes, and always seemed to walk with a hunch. He was a bit shorter than average. People rumor that Toby can't feel pain. He's never talked to anyone about it, and doesn't speak when people question him.

I always thought that I would just avoid him as much as I could, until one day I left school and saw that there was a male and a female by a car, In the parking lot. The man was holding Toby by the hair, and slamming his head into the hood of the car. The woman was cheering for him to continue. I didn't know their names due to the fact that they were upperclassmen. Where was Lyra? I couldn't take this anymore. My sympathy grew too strong for this boy to tolerate his pain any longer. My head filled with adrenaline as I dropped my bag, and ran up to them. I shoved the woman to the ground, because I knew I wouldn't be able to budge the bulky man standing next to her. "What the fuck!" He exclaimed as he threw Toby to the concrete. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" The man got close. A little too close. He clearly wasn't the man to care if he hit a woman or not. He lifted a fist up, with a psychotic expression. I closed my eyes. I was too in shock to even think about running away.

Before I knew it, I heard the tall man shriek in pain. I opened my eyes quickly to reveal he was lying on the ground, holding his crotch. Toby grabbed my arm, and started pulling me in the direction I came. I grabbed my bag quickly as he kept pulling my arm down the street. Once we were out of sight, he stopped and let go. "Are you okay?" I didn't respond. I was too busy glancing up and down the street to see if anyone can see me. "Charlotte?" That got my attention. " How do you know my name? " I responded, out of breath. He looked at me, as if he was confused. "I mean, we go to the same school." Once in a while he stuttered on a word, clearly making him very frustrated. " Thank you so much Toby, I appreciate it. But I'm late I gotta go, bye! " I said, speeding through my words before I ran down the street, gripping my bag.
