That Raven girl. There was something about her I liked. Maybe it was the way she rebelled without even speaking. I could tell something was going on between her and Andy, because when i walked by their lunch table, she had a fuming look when Andy tapped her shoulder. I walked over to a table by myself and sat down.
I wasn't really hungry, so i just sat there, poking at my salad, thinking about Andy, when Raven walks over and sits next to me.
"Hey." She says casually. But, i could the irritation in her voice.
"Hi." I awkwardly responded. "What's up with you?"
"Okay, I am just so mad about the way Andy treats you. I see you try to be nice, and talk to him, but he pushes you away, like you're nothing. I dont know, it just pisses me off. He's like a little fucking child that i have to babysit." She huffed, crossing her arms.
Wow, i thought. Here is this girl I barely know, who just perfectly described what was going on between me and Andy. She must really be on something, to be talking to me. she should be with her group of "populars".
"I know what you're probably thinking," she continued. "Why is this 'popular girl' talking to me when she can be over there with her cool friends. Well, let me tell you, i hate assholes like Andy! people who push aside their feelings for someone, and pretend to love someone else really piss me off. I mean, Andy's cute and funny, but when he lies to himself and others, that's when he pisses me off."
What was she talking about? Andy, likes me? Now i know shes high. Some part of me didn't really trust her. I mean, she is part of the group of bullies, but i knew she meant well.
"What do you mean by 'pretend to love someone'? and 'push aside their feelings'?" I questioned.
"Damnit." She breathed. "I was supposed to keep my mouth shut, but I guess that it's too late for that." She shrugged casually. "Well, every night, andy calls me and talks to me about you, and how he hates his girlfriend."
That made me blush. "Oh, well its not like he'll ever date me anyway." Now i was kind of pissed. " If he 'likes' me so much, then how come he ignores me, and freaks out every time he sees me? That's not very gentle-man like if you ask me." I was confused on this topic.
"Well, it's extremely complicated. So, Andy likes you but he feels like his friends will make fun of him for it, because, no offense, but you're not the most popular girl in school. Which is what i like about you. Your modest. Truthful." She admitted.
"It's okay, i've known that for a while." I replied, looking down, embarrased.
After that, the lunch bell rang, and we walked together down the hall. But, just as i glanced over my shoulder, and for the first time, i felt six pairs of eyes intently as me and raven walked away.

Some part of felt betrayl as I told Kassidy everything me and Andy talked about. Well, you shouldn't be mean to anyone who doesn't deserve it.
Even though Kassidy wasn't as popular as others, she was nice, and she was open was open about being friends. Even as we walked through the hallway, I felt my 'friends' eyes on me. Kassidy was actually pretty chill. She just seemed like she had more background behind her.
"So, where do you live?" I asked, making small talk. Her response shocked me.
"I don't have a house." She said coldly.
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"My mom yelled at me, I'm tired of my family, so I ran away."
Fear struck me. I've been there, I know how hard it is.
"Gee, I don't don't know Raven. I can't go back to my house to get my things...." She replied. But, I insisted. No body, no matter how popular they were, were gonna sleep on the cold ground, knowing in the back of their head, that their family hated them.
"Okay, you can use my clothes. Then will you stay? Please? I've really grown to like you, and I feel bad." I pleaded.
"Yeah, I suppose. But no bull, please?" She replied.
"Yay!" And I realized that the next periods bell had rang, but I didn't care. This girl is awesome. For once I didn't have to pretend.

When I realized what decision i had made, i felt excited. i'd actually been expecting Raven to start randomly beating me up, but i guess she really has changed, and by changed, i mean she doesn't act mean, just because of her friends.
All the next period, we were partners in our science lab, and all we did was talk. she was so interesting! Who knew she would be so nice? I sure as hell didn't expect it.
"So, Andy likes me, huh? That completley confuses me. Why would he glare at you for sitting next to me at lunch? And then ignore me when i try to talk to him?" I questioned.
"So you see, he feels pressured to be ONLY around his popular friends." Raven responded, exaggerating the word 'only'.
Even though i didn't do anything at all the rest of the day, I didn't care. It wasn't like any adults werefgonna ground me or yell at me.
