Marcie's Pov
I had put Johnathan Hartley...in the fucking hospital.
I was lucky to get two hours of sleep in last night, I kept replaying the day in my mind as the hours flew by. I wasn't upset behind the fact that Johnny was in the hospital, in fact he deserved it after all the fucked up torture he's put kids through in school. I was disappointed in myself for not having control over my abilities. FUCK. I could have really killed him.
I climbed out of my bed for what seemed like the hundredth time in the last 7 hours and trudged over to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, straightened my hair and put on a little concealer to hide the redness under my eyes, before getting dressed.
Yesterday was horrible and today would probably be just as bad but I carried on with a hopeful heart. I checked the time on my phone as I made my way down stairs and into the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge with and envelope hung up next to it.
Here's a few bucks from the weekends we missed. Don't know when we'll be home.
Love you.
-Mom and Dad xoxo
I shoved the note in my pocket and flipped the envelope open. There was about $200 bucks inside. My parents had indeed missed a few weeks on my allowance, knowing that I needed gas money, and other shit. Good thing the bills were all paid in advance. I barely knew what my parents did, career wise and I never asked. All I knew is that they made a decent amount of money.
I zipped up a pair of white and black Doc Martens, grabbed my back pack and headed out the door with a sweater in hand.
Devin's Pov
"Vinny, Ryan, shut the fuck up!", Josh yelled across at the two boys who were bickering.
I hadn't even noticed the two going at it again, as I stared out over the crowds of people in front. The guys and I sat in our usual spot, keeping our distance from the others. I was looking out for Marcie, she was surprisingly really cool and seemed to fit in with us perfectly, although the guys were complete assholes to her at first because she was a girl in a group of guys, but I think the new addition is a nice touch. I now have a friend that I can do girl things with and not feel strange. I like makeup, skirts, and things too. Besides she's a little tomboy-ish.
I finally saw Marcie's car come around and park in one of the middle stalls. She climbed out of her car and walked towards us.
She was wearing a pair of black leggings under a red plaid circle skirt that fit her curves nicely, and a leather jacket over a black U neck, with a black beanie pulled over her head. Her pale blue eyes beamed, as I could tell she piled on way more concealer around her puffy eyelids than normal. I smiled out of sympathy, she looked okay but the sadness seemed to linger in her expression, I could tell something wasn't right. But the guys obviously didn't notice even though Chris was stuck staring at her with a dumb smile as she approached us.
"Hey uh Chris, your teeth are showing", Vinny poked at him and teased, noticing the direction of his smile.
"Why don't you take a picture loser? She'll last longer", Josh shoved his shoulder and chuckled at his older friend.
Chris rubbed the back of his neck nervously hiding his noticeable blush, he seemed to do that a lot when he was shy, nervous, or embarrassed.
"Hey", Marcie said with a small wave as she stopped in front of us. Nothing much but small waves, nods and a 'sup' from Ryan and Vinny. Josh and Chris could be the most awkward human beings in existence sometimes.
"Good morning, gorgeous!", I yelled in excitement. "Guess who isn't around to make our lives complete shit today?", I whispered to her.
An apparent smile flashed on and off of her face. "Yeah, he was and ass", she said messing with the wild ends of her silky hair.
The bell finally rang signaling for us to hurry to first period. I hooked my right arm with Marcie's left and dragged her along to Government, ditching the guys.
🖤🖤🖤
First, second, and third period droned on. All we've done is sit and watch power points, read over a syllabus, and stare off into space when the teachers were lecturing. I hated school in it's entirety to be honest.
I found my group of goths and plopped down on the bench, dropping my head on my forearm. I groaned.
"Tired already?", Chris chuckled like a smartass. I gave him the finger and returned my forehead to my arm. "Marcie invited us over her house afterschool today."
I lifted my head and glanced at him, squinting intently. "You like her don't you Christopher?".
He shook his head almost violently and stuttered. "I don't even know her, how can I like her?", he blushed and sat looking dumbfounded.
"Yea, uh huh. You act like she isn't cute. Stop being awkward and ask her out on a date or some shit", I rolled my eyes at him and laughed.
He could be such a guy sometimes.
Marcie eventually came outside to the lunch area, a pear in hand as she trotted over to us, with the same dull expression from this morning. I'm not sure if this was just how she was, considering we only met yesterday, but I could tell something was off in the way she carried herself. She plopped down with a sigh.
"Is everyone here always this annoying and accustom to shoving?", she groaned, clearly irritated.
"More or less", Chris replied. "They're just being people", he chuckled.
"Yeah..", she sighed running a hand through her hair, and pulling her beanie back on.
"Are we going over to yours afterschool today Marcie?", I asked her.
Her bright eyes snapped up to mine. "Oh shit, uh, yea sure I just forgot. I didn't get the chance to clean my room and hide all the dead bodies in the basement", she cracked up earning a laugh from Chris and I.
"Don't worry, we'll help ya." Josh said with a winking, lightening the mood.
Maybe they'd be easier at opening up then I'd thought, previously. But she looked so much like him, it was killing me.
