Tension in the Regiment

Tomorrow was the day. The day that determined Eren's fate. He had to make it, just had to. He wanted to get out of these forsaken walls, there was nothing better than the feeling of freedom. Eren dreamt of the very moment when humanity would finally be free of the titans hold on them.

"Armin and I have been talking" said Eren.

"About?" Mikasa said.

"We want to join the Survey Corps Regiment, even if we have the ability to join the Military Police"

She slammed the table.

"I'll go along with you then"

"You don't have to do that you know"

"Do what"

"Follow me around everywhere like I'm some kind of child, I can protect myself"

He stormed out into the street and sat by an empty food stand. Eren looked up into the early morning sky, it was about to rain. The smell of it was calming. Thoughts of the battle outside the walls came to mind. All the friends he'd make and lose. Eren was prepared to make that sacrifice, but for what.

What if they couldn't take back the world.

What if they got shoved farther back into the walls than they already are.

"I can't let that get to me" he murmured.

"Let what, the fact that your recklessness will be the death of you?"

Eren stopped for a moment to see the captain of the Survey Corps, Levi Rivialle, leaned against the gateway to wall Rose. He looked smug instead of his natural expressionless face.

"You have no idea what you're talking about" said Eren.

"Oh, but I do. It wouldn't be the first time a hothead like you came storming along the other cadets, swearing he'll take over the world. Only to find himself as Titan fodder" the captain said with a bit more seriousness in his tone.

"You'll see! I will take back humanities freedom and I will kill every single Titan in this world"

"Eren!" Mikasa yelled as she was running down the street.

"What are doing all the way down here?"

"I was airing off, I thought I told you to stop following me around like I'm a child!" Eren yelled.

"You know Eren, most people aren't as lucky as you. Most don't have someone who loves and cares for them so much. You shouldn't push her away like that so much. " There was a hint of pain in his voice.

Eren and Mikasa both looked at the captain for awhile. Levi started getting anxious, of nervous is a better word. His face started tinting into a light pink.

"Just forget it, I'll see you two tomorrow" Levi ran off into the city. Leaving a sense of confusion behind him.

"What was all that about" said Mikasa

"Who knows, what a strange man" Eren replied.
