Your cousin, Jamie, had convinced you of the Easter Bunny with two days to spare, so you waited those two horrible days. Those stupid brats kept asking those dumb questions of theirs. Like a land mine, you were ready to explode if any of them made a wrong move. Luckily, your new cousin Jamie would keep you company. He told you about Sandy, North, Toothiana, and Jack as you waited for Aster's return.
One of the guardians, however, rubbed you the wrong way. Jack Frost, the guardian of fun. You understand fun is an important part of being a child, but while the kiddies were busy having fun in the snow, you were busy shoveling it. While they had snow ball fights, you were snowed in. While they were ice skating, you were busy trying to keep from catching frostbite. Suffice it to say, you hated the icy season of which Jack Frost was responsible for. For someone who loved fun, he was very selective of who he chooses to spread the fun with. Luckily you found another name to call Jack, Rebecca Snow. God. you loved the internet.
Anyhow, Easter was here, and you were leaning on tree nearby as the adults hid their cheap plastic eggs alongside Aster's own. You watched as the children, including Jamie, got ready for the egg hunt.
"Nice to see you again." A thick Australian accent cut through you thoughts from behind the tree.
"I was starting to think you wouldn't come." you said, sporting a goofy smile. Ever since the magic returned to your life, you've smiled a lot more.
"I always keep my promises." he said. I could practically hear the smirk on his lips. Your goofy smile just widens as you look at the kids.
"You didn't promise me anything, but I appreciate it none the less." You don't know why, but you find yourself enjoying his company, much more than can be considered normal. There's something about him, you can't quite put you finger on it.
"So Aster, I've heard about the other guardians from Jamie, but I'd like to hear from you. What are your thoughts on them?"
"Well Sandy is alright, can get kinda annoying how he speaks in symbols. North can be a bit of a bragger but he usually means well. Tooth can be a bit much at times, don't be surprised if she goes inspecting your chompers when you first meet." Aster actually comes into view as he talks about his friends. He inspects his boomerang as his story continues.
"And what about Mr. Frost, you two friends or what?" You say as you quirk an eyebrow. The fact that he left him out probably means that he isn't very close to this "winter bringer."
"Friends isn't exactly the way I'd put it mate..." he says as he puts the boomerang back. You realize that you're running out of topics to talk about. You turn to the egg hunt and do what you do best, say the first thing that pops into your head.
"So... why eggs?" you ask as you look back into his green eyes. He looked lost in thought for a moment before chuckling to himself.
"I don't really know myself, its been so long that I've forgotten. I don't know what it is with the little tic-tacs and their amusement with eggs and chocolate, but I just goes to show you how innocent they can be."
"Tic-tacs?" you ask with an amused smile.
"Yeah, you know, the little ankle-biters." he said as he makes a little running motion with his fingers. Paws?
"Oh, the kids. Why call them tic-tacs?" you ask, amused smile still plastered on your face.
"I dunno mate, force of habit I guess." he says as he looks at the kids. you two didn't seem to be talking for very long, but the egg hunt was already over. does this mean that Aster was going to leave? The thought of him leaving was troubling to say the least. He probably has more important things to be doing.
