The couple was awoken by screaming, the wailing of sirens, and the most dreaded thing of all...

The smell of smoke...

They both sat up as the smoke quickly began filling the room. One voice reached theirs more the rest.

"Tyler! Jason! You guys need to get out of there now! The village is burning! ... GUYS!!" Adam was yelling from the street. Jason grabbed Tyler's hand.

"C'mon babe, we have to hurry!" He said as he began dragging his boyfriend from the room. They were dodging through the rooms of the house. The front door just came into site as the roof began to collapse.

"GO!" Jason yelled as he shoved Tyler out of the house as the roof collapsed between them.

"No! I'm not leaving you!" Tyler yelled back as he tried to move the beams that were blocking the door, only succeeding in blocking it more. There was a small space open and Jason reached his hand through and grasped Tyler's.

"Please Tyler. Save yourself. For me." He squeezed his hand.

"Okay. For you." Tyler squeezed back and reluctantly moved away from the blocked doorway. As he began running to safety he heard one last whisper.

"I love you."

"I love you, too." He whispered back before continuing on.

On a hill overlooking the burning village sat the only survivors of the fire that had taken their home. One of these survivors was a boy named Tyler Christie. Everyone had lost something that night, whether it was their homes, or pictures, or the memories themselves, but Tyler had lost the one thing more precious than anything. He lost his best friend, his boyfriend, his one true love, his soulmate.

He began sobbing once again as he watched the fire illuminate the night sky above him.

"You okay?" He heard a voice ask. He shook his head and looked up to find Adam crouched in front of where he sat with Ty standing behind him. Ty put a hand on his back.

"It's going to be all right buddy. It's going to be alright." He said as the two gave Tyler a hug.

Years passed and Tyler just managed to stumble through the days. They were all a blur. It had been five years to the day.

Five years since the fire had burned down his home.

Five years since his love died.

Five years since he had held him.

Five years since he had kissed his lips.

Five years since he last heard the three words he wish so much to hear again.

Five.

Years.

Tyler sighed. Today was the fifth anniversary of the fire. He was currently standing just in front of the place where his house should have been. He knelt down and laid a single white lily, Jason's favorite flower, in front of the concrete foundation of the house.

"Hey love. It's been awhile. Five years to be exact." He sat down fully. "I've missed you. Really missed you. Everything about you. Your voice. Your laugh. Your amazing hair. Your beautiful eyes. The way you would faun over Jeffery and Dillon. They miss you too by the way, along with Aunty Janet." The last part he spoke in his Janet voice. "I wish you were here. I really really do." He sighed. Then he was startled by a voice.

"I've missed you, too, Babe." Tyler hadn't heard that voice in so long... He stood and spun around so quickly he lost his balance and began to fall. He didn't fall for long though. Someone had caught him. He looked up and there, standing in all his glory was...

"Jason...?" Tyler questioned. The other male smiled.

"In the flesh, Love." He replied. He was soon tackled to the ground by his boyfriend.

"My God Jason! Don't ever leave me again! Ever!" Tyler screamed and began peppering Jason's face with kisses. Jason smiled slightly and buried his head in Tyler's chest.

"I don't plan on it." He muttered.

"I thought you died." Tyler whispered as he nuzzled the top of Jason's head.

Jason chuckled quietly. "You really think I'd just up and die and leave you on your own? You can get rid of me that easy Brotato. Besides, I don't think I could leave you for much longer even if I tried."

Tyler's only reply was,

"I love you, and don't ever leave me again."

Jason smirked.

"Never." He said before giving Tyler a long awaited, and long overdue kiss.
