"Levy, hurry up! We're gonna be late!"

I raced around my room, grabbing my kindle and phone, orange headband, and my bookbag. I ran down the mahogany stairs as fast as I could. Lucy, Erza, and Juvia were waiting for me outside our two story house in my beat up Chevy Impala.

"Levy-sama, what took you so long to get ready?"

"I didn't hear my alarm clock go of this morning......"

The three girls stared at me with worried eyes. They didn't ask me what was wrong though because they knew I would say everything was fine. These three girls that I called friends were more like sisters to me. We all lived together in a two story old Victorian house, rent and bills weren't a problem when four girls work together to make ends meet. As I sat down in the driver's seat, Juvia popped in a Nickelback cd. Never Again started to play, Lucy and I sang, Erza did  a kickass air guitar while Juvia played drums on the back of my seat with two empty Voltage bottles. This was how we started our mornings.

When we got to school, the halls were overcrowded and, by some unknown act of Satan, my locker had become the official site for couples to suck face. Well damn, this is just my luck. As I maneuvered against the swarm of tall, gangly teens on their FREAKING PHONES, I happened to run into none other than Gajeel.

"Oy, shrimp, watch where ya going."

"It's pretty hard to do that when the hall is crowded with brain dead zombies, not to mention getting stepped on every two steps..."

"Pfffft"

"This isn't a laughing matter dammit...."

The bell rang and all of a sudden the sea of the damned parted and I finally got to my locker. I ran to my favorite class, Literature. Mr. Makarov always had a different story to tell. We had started reading The Giver, and so far it had become one of my favorite books.

"Miss McGarden, mind telling me why you skipped first period history this morning?"

"I didn't hear my alarm clock go off...... Gomen-sai...."

"It's alright, just be sure not to let it happen to often, ok?"

"Yes sir."

The day went by uneventfull until seventh period. It was science class, and the teacher was about to assign the class a team project. Gajeel came strutting in, his face had a look of disdain, and right behind him was Makarov. Out of all of the vacant seats in the classroom, he chose to sit down next to me. Mrs. Porlyushca, who also happened to be the school nurse, was already agitated and looked like she was about to have a full blown come apart.

"Today, we're going to be concocting a paralyzing agent that can be used in self defence. It is very delicate and can explode if mistreated. So, look next to you, because whoever I  beside you is your partner."

We were put at the very front lab station, and I could hear whispers, very loud, very obnoxious whispers.

"Look, freakazoid got stuck with metal face.

"I heard he got sent to jail because he beat up his old man

"I heard-

"Does it really matter what you stupid bitches heard? It's a fucking RUMOR, based on the imagination of some dumbass who never got the actual facts. And who gives a damn? It's not like he's a threat to any of you. He's actually pretty fucking smart, so just shut the hell up ok."

Complete silence. You could hear the murmurs coming from the other class. All of a sudden Gajeel burst out laughing.

"Miss McGarden, Mister Redfox, both of you get to spend detention together in the library for disrupting my class. Now go, it's time for you brats to leave.

And now I'm sitting in the library alone with Gajeel while we write essays about being respectful in class.

*sigh*

"Why'd you do that shrimp?"

"Do what?"

"Stand up for me in science class. You didn't have to do that, I'm used-

"That, that right there is why I did it. I am so sick of them talking about people, and said people being able to say I'm used to it. It's bull, and I know what that's like and I just couldn't hold back what I had to say, it was like it was just there, like BOOM, and you know..... What they do is wrong, and I wanted them to know it...."

"Well, thanks."

"I have a favor to ask of you, if you wouldn't mind...

"Watcha need?

"A ride home, I told my friends to go on home and I forgot my phone in the car....

Gajeel's P.O.V.

"I don't mind shrimp, but I have to stop at my place first. That ok with you?"

"Yea."

When we were allowed to leave, I showed Levy where I had parked my motorcycle.

"Is it, is it safe? Do you have another helmet?"

"Just take mine, I'll be fine."

She got on and grabbed my side's lightly. When I turned on the motorcycle, it roared to life and she threw her arms around my middle and clamped her hands together against my stomach. I took he to my place s  that I could give Lily his kiwis.

"YO LILY, COMPANY'S HERE AND I GOT YER' FRIGGIN' KIWIS!!!"

Levy's P.O.V.

Gajeel's house was pretty spacious, and expectantly tidy. A huge panther came swaying out of what I presumed to be Gajeel's room. He had a scar over his right eye. I went over to the couch and he came to sit by me after attacking Gajeel to get his kiwis.

"He's cute."

Both of them looked at me like I was insane, and the a look of amusement washed over their faces.

"Normally people, especially chicks, are uncomfortable around Lily."

"Well obviously they can't sense his gentle aura."

"You're not what I expected you to be."

"Let me guess, stuck up, snobby, 'I know more than you ever will' princess who can't even look after herself and expects the world to be handed to her on a silver platter?"

"I was thinking more along the lines of mouse like, not very social, there's enough idgits at the school already."

"I agree wholeheartedly."

We talked for a couple more minutes and then Gajeel took me home.

"I'll see ya later shrimp.

"Yea, see you tomorrow Gajeel."

I went inside. Juvia, Lucy, and Erza had waited for me, but they had all fallen asleep on the couch. I covered them up with our favorite plush, sewn up purple blanket. I then went up to my room and locked myself in.
Steel Gajeel, huh? He's not all that bad once you get to know him a little bit. And why would anyone be afraid of Lily? He's sweet and gentle, unlike several people I know at school. When will ,people learn that looks are really deceptive....

Gajeel's P.O.V.

As I left Levy's house, I thought about the day. It was shifty till I hot to science class, and hang in around shrimp wasn't so bad. I pulled out my smokes and lit up, Maybe I should go an' see which classes I have with shrimp tomorrow in school... And what was up with witch bitch calling her a freakazoid?

Normal P.O.V.

Gajeel got on his bike and wen home. It had started to rain, lightning streaking the sky. Levy was locked up in her room, hoping like hell that  Gajeel wouldn't ignore her the next day in school.
