All around me gunshots ring out. They echo throughout the cold, dark hallways surrounding me. It's empty, except for the bodies scattered across the floor. Guards. Shot down without a hesitation. They should've known better. It was time for my escape. And no one was getting in my way.
I stand still, looking around at my success so far. It was truly beautiful. My plan was working excellently. Other than the distant gunshots, it is silent. Dead silent. That is, until someone comes running down the hallway parallel to mine.
My head shoots to the right, ready to fire. I find my partner, Aaron, running up to me from a few hallways down.
His dull grey prison uniform is covered in shiny, red blood. You could hardly see any grey left. I look to his hand and see his hunting knife also covered in blood. He always preferred to be up close and messy. Yet somehow his long blonde hair and beard didn't have a speck of red.
"Xander. It's clear, but we need to hurry. The alarm has gone off and more guards are coming." He says quickly, catching his breath from running. I meet his gaze for a second, and I do a curt nod.
"Let's go then. No time to waste." I start to run in the direction he came from, and I turn to see him following me.
I pick up my pace, and he easily stays caught up. He is bigger than I am, and definitely gets his weights in, judging by his large muscles and beefy legs.
I had been in what I assume was the Pentagon too long for me to know. There was absolutely no windows and no way to tell the time in the cell. Not to mention, I never left it either, so the amount of time I was stuck, doing nothing the whole time, is unknown to me.
We both run down the maze of hallways, rushing past bodies upon bodies of dead guards. Soon, we catch up with our group of partners. At least the ones who had made it this far.
"Xander. We found the way out, it's not that far from here. Except there's more guards coming, and they're coming through the only known exit." One of the members, James, said hurriedly.
"Well then let's go. We have no time to waste." I say, and wait for him to lead the way. Instead, he stands still, and I get irritated. What is he doing? Doesn't he know we're on the verge of death here?
"There's hundreds of them, Xander. We only have about twenty. It would be a suicide if we tried to exit that way." He finally responds, and I exhale, annoyed at his lack to notice the danger we are in. If he keeps this up, I'm going to leave him here.
"It's a suicide if we stay here any longer looking for a different way. Now, let's go. Which way?" He hesitates to respond, and I see his disagreement with my choice. He's smart enough not to argue against it anymore though, and points to the direction we needed to head.
I started to walk quickly, and turned back to see a few slowly training behind me, most of them hesitating to follow. I glare at them. Such idiots.
"Well you all better hurry up, unless you want me to leave you here." Is all I say, then I start to run. I turn my head back again to see them all following behind now, and I smirk. Let's do this.

I triumphantly walk across the bright green grass, coming to a stop underneath the cover of some trees to avoid the hot sun. Well it's summer, so I know it's been atleast a few seasons.
I turn to the remaining members of the group. After the huge showdown in the exit hall, we lost almost all of our members. There was only about seven out of twenty-five of us left, including me, Aaron, and - unfortunately - James.
