He crept back to the pond, now facing the pond from the opposite angle he had been when he was sitting on the rock. This angle seemed to bring a new light to the pond, the sun was still shinning and the fish were still swimming but something felt off. The pond seemed gloomier, grayer, almost resembling when a gray cloud passes over the sun casting a shadow on the world, yet there were no clouds in sight. The boy thought not to much of it, blaming it simply on the his new perspective of the pond, but the way his chest quaked inside told him he was wrong. He took a few more cautious steps towards the pond, stopping mere inches away the shallow water. He waited not sure for what, the few seconds that passed felt like an eternity and he began to have doubts about that pressure in his chest. It was an intense feeling of anxiety, his lungs felt as if they were slowly turning to rock and his rib cage melting into a jiggly jelly, but it could simply be the wind, he thought not so confidently or perhaps the eggs he had for breakfast had gone bad. Yet as he was about to leave for a second time, he saw it.Its head or what he assumed to be a head, crept slightly out of the water, in such a fluid motion that the boy hardly even believed that it was alive. It kept rising and advancing this way, stiff but somehow even more graceful than the fish, until it reached about a foot away from the boys feet. It stood just below the boys knees, which if you had seen this boy you would know is very short. It had four limbs similarly to a human but even the most brainwashed man on earth could still tell that this, this thing was in fact not at all human. Its ears were very prominent, placed were human ears would be but pointed and stiff, the boy could see they were most likely the same consistency as that little piece of cartilage everyone has at the beginning of there nose right between both eyes. They were also the same lengths as the creature, and sticking straight out behind it, pointing at the ends. Its eyes were the most dominant thing on its face besides its high rised cheekbones, if you were not already mesmerized by there pointed shape, you would be by the cats eye pupil and the odd gray-ish color that consumed the rest of the eye. This color seemed to fade onto its skin slowly merging with the purple-ish hue of the rest of its body. I could go on and on explaining the looks of this creature, but that would be a waste of words that could be used to tell you what really important.
The boy was stunned by this creature, as ugly as it was, he could not look away, the longer he stared the more he/it transformed in his mind and the more beautiful he found it.
"Wh-wh- wha-what. The...." was all the boy seemed able to manage.
"Your Name?" The creature whispered, its voice rang in the boys head coming form every direction. It was low and raspy, yet somehow very clear, almost sounding like someone straining there voice in a low whisper.
"Im sorry?" The boy said quickly his confusion and curiosity coming over him before he even had a chance to stutter.
"Its Quite Simple," It stated, almost seeming to sigh, "What Is Your Name?"
"well-well I shouldn't be saying my name to strangers," He said his stutter making its last appearance as the boy began to feel a little annoyed than scared.
It was silent, it somehow knew the boy was not finished and the boy could sense this."and, well, I should ask you the same thing." His cheeks flushed red with his short temper. Being an only child meant he always got his ways, and this attitudes stuck even with a weird creature standing a short arms reach in front of him.
"Tell Me Then," it said and slowly smirked, "What Are You?"
"I guess, uh, well, i'm a boy?" The boy shifted with uncertainty and crossed his arms, "why d'you wanna know?" He added quickly still trying to get his way.
"Boy. Boyyyyy. hmm. A Boy. No. The boy. Yes. I Shall Call You The Boy," The words slithered out of its mouth. In almost a song like manner.
"Wait, no. No dont call me that! Call me something cool! like, like uhhhh.. dar.. Darth Vader!! He's my faaaavourite! Hes in this movie called Star wa..," He gasped sharply, and his face lit up with the thousands of questions running through his mind, "Wait! Do they have movies where you live? Do you live in the pond? Wait! Are you an Alien?" He stopped and sucked in as much air as he could, "Oh My God... Do you know Darth Vader? Are you a star wars guy? My dad wouln.."
"The Boy, Im Calling You The Boy" It spoke sternly.
"Fine! Well imma call you Alien thing then... Ha!" The boy now started to grow exited, he could make friends with an alien! A real live alien in his Pond, his dad would never believe him.
"Alright, The Boy." It laughed.
