Taka's pov

I woke up shivering in cold, it was pretty common for my Saturday mornings. It was always for the exact same reason: The window was open.

Every Friday Ringo, my friend, would sneak out to the pub for some beer and would come in through my window. Don't even ask me how he gets up here, I wouldn't want to know anyway. What can you expect from a crazy alcoholic roommate?

I sighed to myself.

Another weekend has begun.

I looked out my window and admired the extraordinary bright winter scenery.

What time is it for the Sun to be that bright? I looked at my hanging clock.

"It is eleven o'.... CRAP! MY TRAINING WITH KESTREL!"

I hurried to my closet and changed to my normal everyday outfit plus my trusty black winter jacket. I rushed downstairs, only to find Aunt Grace, my cousin Catherine and Ringo eating their breakfast on the dinner table without me.

"Oh hey, Taka, want breakfast?" Ringo asked.

"We've got your favourite~~" Ringo said swinging a granola bar like a pendulum.

"Ringo, why didn't you wake me up? You knew I had training with Kest every Saturday."

"You looked so comfy in your fox themed underwear I didn't want to wake you up" Ringo said, making Catherine giggle.

"Ringo, you son of a ---"

"Taka, you know the rules, no swearing in the house." Aunt Grace cut me off, giving me a stern look.

I glared at Ringo and gave him the 'you're dead' look and he did a goofy grin in return. I snatched his half-eaten granola bar and rushed for the door. I waved goodbye to Aunt Grace and Catherine and set off to the Training Hall.

The Training Hall was a place where fighters train for combat. People of all kinds come here to train. People ranging from the Fold all the way to the Rise.

When I reached, I gave the receptionist my name and sprinted for Room 28.

I swung open the door only to meet no one or nothing but a note. I read it aloud:

Dear Taka, You're an hour late for our group training. You know the tournament is just a month away but you've haven't even mastered Kaku yet. You should be ashamed of yourself. I went to a different room to train with my other friends. Since I'm not here, you should apologize to me out loud right now. From, Your Best Friend, Kestrel.

"Okay Kest, I'm sorry. You can come out now..."

Just then, I hear an arrow being readied for fire as if it's a stretching rubber band. My fox instincts tell me so.

Shwiiiing! A glimmershot arrow fired towards me, I saw the attacker behind it, Kestrel with a smirk on a her face.

Without hesitating, I attempt to somersault over the arrow, but it was too late, the arrow it the end of my shirt and sent me flying to the wall, pinning me on it.

I couldn't move with the arrow penetrated deeply into the wall.

I sighed loudly.

"Hey Kest, how are you doing?"

I haven't introduce Koshka in this chapter and I'll do it in the next one. Please leave a comment below. Is this chapter to short or its crap etc. Thanks and I'll see you guys in the next one.
