Once upon a time in a faraway land there lived creatures known as dragons. This story is not about the dragons themselves, no. This story is of a race not exactly dragon and not exactly human. A race known as the dragon-shifters: beings that appeared human and had the ability to take on the form dragons. Beings who were not accepted by the other races. The three races kept to themselves, to each their own. The dragons all followed one ruler, the humans many, and the shifters had one king to guide them since there were so few. Overtime, all but the king had forgotten they could become dragons, and, under the belief they had one sole form, lived in peace.
Centuries passed before the king fell in love with and wed a woman to rule by his side, centuries more until the queen bore children, a set of twins. Sting and Ira Eucliffe, prince & princess of the Kingdom of Ebongarde.
This story is of the Princess of Ebongarde and how her father's actions lead to her discovering the truth of her people at a terrible cost.
Time ticks so slowly when one begins to fall into fate.
