Iris pov

My parents were invited to go to a prince's ceremony.

Like a prince.

I dont know why but when I hear about princes and princesses, I just think its all fictional.

It doesnt seem real to me.

"Iris! Get dressed!"

"Okay!" I go over to my closet and pick out a black dress that isnt tight but flowy.

I put some benetit on my cheecks and a little bit of mascara.

I grab my shoes and put them on.

From: Mom
To: me
- iris we're in the car, hurry up!

I run out to the car and jump in.

I turn on my music and then maude jumps in and shuts the door.

I dont want to go but I do wanna see how royal this is.

And why they invited my dad to something royal?

My dad makes jokes for a living it just doesnt make sense.

I look out of the window as we pull up, its huge.

My dad pulls up to the vallet and tells us to get out.

I get out and I cant help but admire how pretty it is.

My dad and my mom walk in so me and maude follow behind them.

"Do you want to dance?" I hear a boy say to maude.

He has a mole above his lip and very curly hair.

"Sure"

Maude takes his hand and goes to dance with him.

"Iris, we're gonna go talk to some people, you can stay here or dance just behave." My mom gets up and grabs my dads hand and they start to talk to someone across the room.

Ughhhhh.

Now I look like a loser sitting alone.

I get up and walk over to the door and open it.

Its just long hallways and bathrooms and such.

I walk into the hallways and start looking at the pictures on the walls.

Its really fancy here.

But also cozy.

I turn around and bump into someone.

"Oh my gosh- im so sorry"

"Its fine. Have I met you before?" The boy with very curly hair says.

"I dont think so-"

"Finn!"

"Oh god- get in here" The boy pulls me into the closet and turns off the light.

"Finn! Finn! You're gonna be in so much trouble.. Finn!" We hear the woman pass yelling for Finn.

"Im guessing your Finn?" I say giggling.

"Ya.. something like that, so know that you know my name, whats yours?"

"Iris. Iris Apatow"

"Nice to meet you."

"Ya you too, so why are we in a closet?"

"My mom- shes very controlling. She wants to map out my future before I even know what I want my future to be."

"Your mom made her decision of who she wanted to be. You are not your mom and you dont have to live up to her expectations-"

All of the sudden the door opens.

"Finn! Now" Finns mom, I believe grabs his hand and takes him out.

He waves and smirks and she yanks his hand.

I wave back.

I smile and walk out of the closet.

I walk into the bathroom and put cold water on my cheeks and my forehead.

I grab a paper towel and clean up the wet spots on my face.

I walk out of the bathroom.

I can't stop thinking about that damn boy.

I walk into the room I was in from the beginning.

"Where were you?" Maude says nudging onto my hand.

"Long story"

I sit down next to maude and just look around.

"Will everyone please rise for prince Finn" everyone stands up and maude pinches my shoulder.

I stand up and then the door opens.

I cant believe what im seeing.

The same boy I was just locked in a closet with is the prince?

Hes whos ceremony I was going to?

"Holy shit" I say under my breath only causing my sister to look at me.

Finn walks past me and smirks.

Finn kneels down when he is in front of the king.

He stands back up and takes a bow.

"Father"

"Son"

Holy fucking shit.
