If I could switch the bottle of pills
For one specific drill
A drill, to help me nail in him all the reasons for why he should stop.
A nail that would scrape through the wall of depression as thick as his skin.
As thick as the mist that clouds his judgement.. the reason why we're here today.
In this hospital Bed ... with a bag of saline injected in him
As if a bag of liquid can convince him otherwise
As if what his mom has taught him, could outweigh the costs of the pills he takes. "To get away, it's all to get away"
And I stand and watch from afar I can tell u 2 in 8 people can relate.
To substituting pills for a getaway car.
For relying on orange bottles the size of his child's pinky to relive him of his duties as a single parent.
As a failed assistant (which had cost him his job)
As a high school dropout.
As a means to escape the way his life had played out.
