It's Contagious the way you smile, I know you haven't in a while

" If she has a problem with me being here then I can leave" Sativa said to me. Sabina was over here earlier so I guess she heard what she said.

" I just don't want to be a bother, I know how important she is to you." She sighed with her head low.

I tapped her chin gently so she could look at me. " Imma tell you just like I told her, she don't pay my bills or is she my girlfriend so she can't tell me who I shouldn't or should have in my house. Okay?"

" Okay." She gave me a little smile

" You're not a bother, so i don't even wanna hear that. You've actually been helping me out a lot around the house so you good. Don't worry about her she's just protective"

I didn't even bother to try and figure out why Sabina was acting like that, Sometimes she's real overprotective.

" Or she's jealous" Sativa looked at me.

" Jealous? Why would you say that?"

" Cause' she was questioning you about like I was your girl or something. She mean mugged the hell out of me too. That's your bestfriend so I ain't feel like saying anything but only people that feel threatened respond like that"

Sativa looked at me like I was suppose to know what she was talking about. I never even would of thought about it like that. I mean Sabina has always been a bit overprotective but she's been like that since we were kids.

I always pushed the thought to the back of my mind.

" I just don't want to be in the way of whatever y'all got going on" she shrugged her shoulders in defeat

" We don't have nothing going on." she just smirked at me like she didn't believe me.

"anyways, I'm going back out of town in like a week, so you gotta hold down the fort while I'm gone."

"I got you, Dre so don't worry."

" I'm bout' to head out. I should be back soon."

"uh, hey y'all. this is only like my second time up here so yeah I'm hella nervous." 

I finally came back to this place. I discovered it a couple years back when I first got into writing, the last time I came here was my senior year in college so it's kinda nerve-wrecking to be doing this again.

" I wrote a small piece recently that I'd thought I'd share. I hope y'all like it." I cleared my throat before I let the words roll off my tongue.
