7- Secrets

After that date, Lloyd and Meadow have gone on a few other dates without the others knowing. The last date they had was when they became official.

The thing was, they had to keep their relationship a secret. Lloyd didn't want anyone to know, not even their friends, in case it got around, and Meadow would be in the same situation as he was with all the bullying and such.

It was a hard decision for Meadow, but she accepted it knowing Lloyd's thought process. She had to commit to it, for her boyfriend's sake.

"I'll see you at the end of the day alright, Cupcake?" Lloyd told her girlfriend. Even if they were keeping their relationship a secret, Lloyd couldn't help but make Meadow feel special with her own unique nickname every once in awhile.

"You too, Greenie." Meadow smiled. Lloyd gave Meadow a quick peck on the cheek, careful no one saw, before walking away. Meadow giggled a bit before going to her own class.

What they both didn't know was that there was a certain cheerleader watching them closely. He went out of his hiding place behind a corner and tapped on Lloyd's shoulder harshly. Lloyd turned around slowly. Frowning at Chen.

"So what's the deal with you and Medelah?" Chen crossed his arms over his chest. Lloyd stared at him for a second.

"What do you mean? We're just friends." Lloyd claimed, then he tried to leave, him not wanting Meadow to be dragged into anything, but Chen held him back.

"Don't play dumb. I saw what you did in the hallway." Chen told him.

"That is none of your business. What do you want anyway? Can't you just ever leave me alone?" Lloyd shot back. Chen gave a small smirk.

"I used to date her." Was all he said.

"W-what? You're bluffing." Lloyd scoffed.

"She was a cheerleader like me. Cute too, too bad we broke up. We were the ultimate power couple," Lloyd stood there in disbelief, "Don't believe me? Just ask her about her cheerleader career." Chen shoved Lloyd's shoulder as he walked away, smiling grimly.

Soon enough, the school day ended. The young ninja team all stood at their lockers.

"Hey Lloyd, ready to get back into training?" Cole asked getting pumped up.

"Sorry guys, but not today. I got something.......important I have to do." Lloyd frowned. The others took glances at one another before just giving the green ninja a couple of understanding remarks. Lloyd gave a small nod to let them go ahead before running out of the school.

"What could be more important than training?" Zane asked.

"Who knows. Lloyd will probably tell us tomorrow." Kai shrugged.

Meanwhile, as the ninja team went off to train, Lloyd had caught up with Meadow. Who gave him a loving hug. Lloyd paused before returning it as well, softly kissing Meadow's head.

There's no way Meadow's an ex-cheerleader and the ex-girlfriend of Chen.....It's just not possible...

The two walked to Lloyd's apartment holding their hands swinging it back and forth a bit. But once the two got to Lloyd's apartment building, Lloyd let go. He turned to Meadow.

"Is it true?" He mumbled.

"What...?" Meadow asked, quite confused. Lloyd looked down.

"You used to be a cheerleader....didn't you? You used to date Chen....." Lloyd balled his hands up into fists. Meadow looked at him surprised.

"Is it true?!" He asked again only louder.

"Y-yes...." Meadow finally gave in. She never wanted him to know about her past in the Ninjago High Cheerleaders. Lloyd turned around, his back facing her.

"I never meant to hurt anyone. Especially not you. I-I was in it my freshman year. B-but Chen wanted me to be his girlfriend. I-I tried but I couldn't say no. But when I saw what he was doing to you and your friends, I wanted to quit. H-he said we would break up if I did......I didn't care and we broke up. But I couldn't help but feel something else, I started having feelings with someone else. Someone who's not Chen." Meadow spoke softly. Lloyd soften up a bit, confused.

"And who exactly is this person?" Lloyd asked.

"You, Lloyd Garmadon. I never wanted to tell you because I thought I would never have a chance to be with you....." Meadow said, with tears still in her eyes. At that moment Lloyd knew he messed up big time.

"I'm so sorry, Meadow. I just.......Chen told me and I didn't want to believe it. I guess I just overreacted. I'm so sorry." Lloyd immediately apologized. Meadow just giggled at his apology.

"What's so funny?" Lloyd asked. Meadow's giggling died down and she smiled.

"Nothing, it's just.....you're acting like such a boyfriend...." Meadow rolled her eyes playfully.

"Well, that's what I am, and to the sweetest girl in the world." Lloyd took Meadow's hand and led her inside to Lloyd's apartment.

"Is it really alright for me to be here?" Meadow asked. She took off her shoes, leaving her with just her socks on, and placed them and her backpack down near the door.

"Yeah, my mom will be home later so we got time." Lloyd took off his own shoes to his sandals.

"Besides, now I owe you. I shouldn't have judged you like that. I guess with all that happens in my life, I just can't trust anyone these days."

"Lloyd, it's not your fault."

"I guess, but....I still want to do something for you."

"Just being with you is enough. I really thought that maybe you were going to break up with me right then and there."

"Of course not, I care about you way too much to do that." Lloyd sat on the couch with Meadow. Meadow rested her head against Lloyd's shoulder smiling happily about how the whole situation turned out.

The two sat there watching whatever was on TV that they both liked, snuggling to each other's content. Lloyd looked down at his girlfriend, grateful to have her even after the whole dispute. Lloyd looked at the TV, knowing it was almost at the kissing scene, and then looked down at Meadow.

"I love you so much...." Lloyd mumbled. Meadow looked right up at him.

"Me too...." She said back. Lloyd put his hand on Meadow's cheek, which Meadow leoaned against, softly smiling at him. Lloyd then took hold of Meadow's chin and they started to lean in, in sync with the TV, they both closed their eyes and were leaning in closer almost making contact-

"Aww, look at my sweet baby growing up...." the two separated immediately and turned their heads towards the door.

"Moooom!"
